You might have seen some of these lovely yard signs scattered around Alma lately.. that's us! We hope you will consider voting YES for the Alma Public Library millage on this year's ballot! If you have an absentee ballot you are good to go right now, otherwise early voting in Alma starts October 24th. (hours and location can be found here: https://myalma.org/elections.php). Election day is November 3rd!

Hey everyone! This election cycle is in full swing for those who wished to vote using absentee ballots! Please vote YES for the Alma Public Library millage to ensure funding for a new sinking fund that would cover capital improvements, repairs, and maintenance of the building and grounds at the library for the next 6 years.

The millage would gain funds through a small tax increase for those living within the City of Alma up to 1 mill at a rate of $1 for every $1,000 of state taxable property value. State taxable property value is calculated as 50% of the market value of your home as determined by the local assessor each year!

That means if your home is valued at $200k, your property tax would increase by $100 for the entire year. That $100 averages out to around $8.33 per month, about the price of half a grinder at Mancino's, or a Netflix subscription. Considering all that the library provides for the community, we think that is pretty worth it!

Please consider voting YES for the Alma Public Library millage on this year's ballot!!
