Allendale Public Schools Music Boosters

Allendale Public Schools Music Boosters Who are we? The APS Music Boosters are parents, alumni and friends of band and choir students in the Allendale Middle School and High School. All are welcome!

We are a parent-run 501(c)(3) non-profit organization supporting the Music Programs at the Allendale Public Schools through various fundraisers and community events. The objective of the Music Boosters is to be an advocate for music in the school system and in the community. The Music Boosters provide funds to assist with maintenance of uniforms, scholarships and to purchase instruments and miscel

laneous equipment when possible. The Music Boosters also assist financially with major band or choir activities (like band camp, competitions, etc.) and trips and provide chaperones and transportation services for these trips when needed. Why be involved? Many hands make light work! In order for the organization to help as needed, we need parents and students to be involved. There are many ways to be involved as a volunteer whether you are interested in committing large amounts of time or are able to assist at specific events. We can use your donation of time, energy and ideas. Why are we trying to raise money? Part of the mission of the Allendale Music Boosters is to assist financially when needed. We provide financial assistance to the Allendale Middle and High School music programs when needed, to promote musical education in our community. We provide ongoing scholarships to assist with voice or instrument lessons, summer camps, trips, instruments, and more. We also provide additional financial assistance to the choir and band programs to provide uniforms, uniform cleaning services, and supplies and activities not covered by school budgets. Every year, at least four seniors receive scholarships from Allendale Music Boosters as well. Fundraising activities a raise money for the Music Booster general fund to be distributed at the discretion of the Board. Why should you be trying to raise money NOW? All money raised is used for a music-related activity such as marching band camp, choir retreat, a summer music experience such as Interlochen or Blue Lake, instrument repair or supplies, special activities, and more. When and where do we meet? We meet once a month (excluding January and February) in the high school band room. Who to contact with questions:

Check out the Marching Band Senior Banners that are now up on the football field fence for all to see throughout the season! We’re so proud of these seniors!

The Music Boosters was so excited to partner with two local businesses to make this new tradition possible at no cost to the students (and they get to take them home at the end of the season!).

HUGE shout out to XLER8 Customs & Collision and Love Photography by Katie VanderWal for their incredibly generous donations of time and money. This would not have been possible without these two businesses. Thank you so very much. ❤️

Choir and Band Community - Please consider checking out the two volunteer sign up opportunities below! Money raised from these events goes directly back to support our band and choir students. Adults and students are encouraged to volunteer!

1) Concessions at Ceglerak Fine Arts Center: During various events this fall at the CFAC, you can help run the concession booth in the lobby. If you've never worked CFAC concessions, no worries! A member of the Music Boosters will always be there to help you open and close - and to answer your questions along the way!

2) Varsity Football Stadium Clean-Up and Sales: Help us show our Falcon pride by picking up trash after the varsity football games this season, and support is also needed to sell cider/donuts/swag at the games. A member of the Music Boosters will help set up for cider/donuts/swag and many of us are there after every single game cleaning up!

Important Post with 4th of July Parade *Details!

(*For current 10th-12th grade marching band members, defer to any instructions from Mr Broome.)

For those planning to walk alongside the float during the parade, note the following:

Saturday 7/4:
All current and past middle/high school band/choir students are invited to participate! Meet in the Allendale Middle School bus loop 9-9:15am. Look for the marching band and our float. Wear your best red/white/blue gear - and be prepared for lots of walking in hot weather! If you’d like to bring candy to hand out, please feel free - but Music Boosters will have candy on hand as well. Parents should plan to pick their kids up after the parade in the same location as drop off. Music Booster parents will be on hand, and walking in the parade, to keep the kids together and safe until all are picked up!

Thursday 7/2:
Calling all creative band/choir students (past and present)! Consider joining us from 6-7pm in the high school parking lot (outside the band/athletic entrance) to decorate our float for the parade! All supplies will be available and a rough plan has been developed, but we need your creative energy for the rest! It’ll be HOT - dress for the weather and eat the free popsicles that will be available! 🙂

Tshirt Pickup Info:
If you ordered a 4th of July band/choir tshirt, they will be available for pick up at the high school band room 7/2 10am-12pm and 7/2 6pm-7pm. They will also be available 9am at parade lineup up 7/4.
