🚨CALL TO ACTION: SUPPORT THE ALBUQUERQUE MINIMUM WAGE ORDINANCE BEING HEARD TODAY🚨

This ordinance will increase the wages in ABQ from $12/hour to $15/hour beginning in 2027.

The workers of Albuquerque have been the backbone of our local economy! Everyone deserves to live without fearing if they will have enough to pay for rent that month. Our communities deserve the freedom to thrive and having livable wages is a step in the right direction.✊🏾

This is what leadership looks like!

We want to give a huge shout out to Emanuel, our Highland HS Chapter Lead and an amazing student artist that can proudly say his art represents a movement! Emanuel’s “Afuera ICE” penguin design became the face of the New Mexico State University ICE Out of Campus campaign. The ICE Out of Campus campaign is a coalition of three campus organizations (Students for Justice in Palestine, Graduate Workers United and NMSU Dream Team) to fight for a campus where the majority minority student body can feel safe. They have been making calls for NMSU to cease collaboration with CBP, and keep campus safe.

Their demands are:
Immediate ban of all ICE and CBP recruitment activity at NMSU.
The enactment of a formal policy requiring a judicial warrant for any federal immigration enforcement activity on NMSU property.
A public reaffirmation of NMSU as a sanctuary for all, regardless of race or natural origin.

It is truly beautiful to witness Emanuel’s art representing such a powerful movement that is meant to ensure the security of our communities on campus.

New Mexico Dream Team believes everyone deserves the freedom to move, including our DACA recipients. The ruling by the Board of Immigration Appeals is not only unjust given the history and protections DACA has offered for its recipients, but it creates uncertainty in their future.

DACA has never been enough. Now more than ever, we need our allies to step up and make it clear that for DACA recipients, OUR HOME IS HERE.
