My thoughts last year:
-What if this doesn't work?
-What if I fail?
-I think I might be crazy.
-What am I even doing?!
-I don't know if I can.

My thoughts today:
-I can, and I will.
-I'm here and I am.

The last year has been an absolute journey. It's proof that those crazy ideas can 100% become reality. Cheers, my friends.

I’ll be at Parklife ABQ (Nob Hill) on May 9 from 11:30–2 🌿

I’m bringing a fresh selection of carnivorous plants—Nepenthes, sundews, butterworts, and Venus flytraps—along with a small mix of orchids, houseplants, and air plants.

This is a great chance to see everything in person, ask questions, and find something that fits your space—whether you’re just getting started or already collecting.

I’ll have care cards available and I’m always happy to help you get set up for success.

This week looks a little different for us at Pearl River Exotics 🌱

We’re out in Utah for Archery Nationals with EVCA—something that’s been a huge part of our family’s life this year. PRE had the chance to sponsor the school team, and getting to watch these kids show up, work hard, and compete at this level has been pretty incredible.

This business has always been about more than just plants. It’s about building something that supports our family, our community, and the things that matter most to us.

We’ll be a little quieter than usual while we’re here—but we’ll be cheering loud from the sidelines 🏹

I am trying something a little new. I know for most of you - this is a *bit* too far for you to travel. 😆
I'm doing my first pop-up at the local coffee shop here in Edgewood. Hopefully, I can get the community excited about carnivorous plants just like all the rest of us here.
If you are in the general area - stop by April 18th and say hi! I'm going to be bringing a lot of plants. Mainly focusing on easy to grow, beginner friendly carnivorous plants but I will also have a few houseplants and some orchids. Hope to see you there! 🤩

Rain is FINALLY on the forecast for tomorrow (please don’t be an April Fools joke 🤞🌧️)!

We just had this 3,000 gallon rain tank delivered to the greenhouse, and honestly…this thing holds more than water. It holds a huge piece of our vision for sustainability here in New Mexico.

Water is one of the biggest challenges of growing in our climate, and every drop we can capture and reuse makes a difference—for the plants, for the environment, and for the future of Pearl River Exotics.

Now we just need the skies to cooperate. 💧

Fingers crossed this tank gets its first fill tomorrow!
