The idea of public parks being locked with codes only in neighborhoods of the poor and people of color seems like a serious discrimination lawsuit to me 🤔 unhoused, poor people, immigrants and people of color pay the taxes for this infrastructure so the idea they can be "locked out" and someone in city gov and a home owners association get to decide who gets access... well that seems like a very serious rights violation!

As Bryan Stevenson stated "the death penalty isn't an issue that can be evaluated by asking whether people deserve to die for the crimes they've committed. The threshold question is whether we deserve to kill, as we have a system that has been compromised by this History of racial bigotry, when we have a system that makes so many mistakes. For every eight people we've executed in the united states we've identified one on death row, who has been exonerated. It's a shocking rate of error that we would never tolerate in any other industry. If one out of every 9 planes fell out of the sky. Air travel would be shut down..."

Yet, somehow we tolerate this with indifference when it comes to our people on death row.

Executions are scheduled in Alabama, Oklahoma and Tennessee Thursday in what would be the first time since 2010 that three people are put to death on the same day in the United States.

Tennessee’s Republican Governor Bill Lee has refused to grant clemency to Darrell Hines, who is scheduled to be executed despite his attorneys warning that he could suffer cruel and unusual punishment. They say the physician likely to oversee Hines's ex*****on is unqualified to insert the IV to administer lethal drugs, citing the botched ex*****on attempt of Tony Carruthers earlier this year. Governor Lee called off Carruthers's ex*****on and granted him a one-year reprieve after the physician struggled for about an hour to insert the IV to administer lethal drugs.

Ecuadorian prosecutor Alexandra Bravo was fatally shot along with her sister by a hitman on a motorcycle last month in the city of Manta. Drop Site News reports that at the time of her killing, she was investigating U.S. strikes on three Ecuadorian boats in which 36 passengers survived. The survivors claimed that they had been abducted and then tortured by American gunmen in U.S. military uniforms aboard a U.S.-flagged patrol ship.

Meanwhile, The Washington Post reports that an assessment by the Drug Enforcement Administration found that the strikes have failed to affect the supply or price of co***ne in the United States.
