Why am I running for Trustee? It’s an important question, and one I’ve given a great deal of thought to.
The people who reside in the Village of Albion deserve to feel proud of where they live. Those who grew up here should feel proud of where they came from. Albion has been my home for nearly 26 years. I graduated from Albion High School, I work in the village, I coach here, I live here, and I am raising my family here. This community has helped shape who I am, and I care deeply about its future.
I am running because I want to work for and with the people of this village. I believe our local government should be accessible, respectful, and collaborative. My goal is to help foster a Village Board environment where residents feel comfortable sharing their ideas, concerns, and perspectives without fear of being dismissed, talked down to, or made to feel like an inconvenience. Public service is exactly that, service. Elected officials work for all of the people in the village.
I’m not expecting votes simply because people like me. I’m hoping to earn votes because people believe in me and believe that we can work together to create meaningful, positive change together. Real progress happens when a community comes together with mutual respect and a shared vision.
I can’t promise to lower taxes, and I can’t promise to make every decision that pleases everyone that simply isn’t realistic. What I can promise is that I will listen. I will be present. I will approach every conversation with respect and an open mind. And I will always do my best to represent our community in a way that makes the people of Albion proud.
Albion is my home. I am committed to helping it move forward together.
