When reporting ICE activity in the community, especially on social media, it’s incredibly important to provide a full informational report that follows the SALUTE acronym. This helps to provide the community with timely updates, allowing them to make informed decisions and minimizing panic.
1. It’s actually more helpful to obtain the details of SALUTE than video footage; while video footage can be helpful; without other details community safety measures can’t be put into place.
2. If 🧊appears to be at a residence, do not post the specific address to social media. Instead state the block number of the street to protect both the resident and neighbors.
3. See a report on your social media-ask for follow up info before sharing and tailor your share to include necessary info!
