January ‘25 Business Analysis session, “Building Mobile Applications” with Christopher Ford, New York State Office of Information Technology Services.�While building mobile applications, there are common questions and differences with mobile development that arise.
The session focused on three aspects of what’s encountered: BA, PM, IT Lead Role Definitions; Mobile Considerations; and Critical Areas of BA Involvement During the Project and Mobile Differences and Similarities.

November Data & Analytics session, “CDAO Agenda 2024: Reinvent or Become Irrelevant” with Nate Novosel - Vice President, Research & Advisory - Gartner �This session reviewed the data and trends from the results of CDAO Agenda 2024 survey. Throughout these findings, Nate explored major changes shaping the CDAO role and what one can do to keep pace going into 2025.

November ‘24 (AI) Workgroup focused on a crucial topic for state and local government leaders: Developing and Implementing Strategies. The panel discussion, titled AI Journey for State & Local Governments, provided valuable insights into how government entities can effectively align AI strategies with their goals, policies, and priorities. The panel discussed identifying opportunities for AI, setting priorities, and managing AI projects and systems effectively. A roadmap framework to enable government teams to bring AI ideas, strategies, and use cases to life was shared. The session was moderated by Michelle K. Chank, PMP, Managing Partner for New York State at Gartner, with expert insights from Bharat Bagaria and Steve Nichols, both Expert Partners for State and Local Government at Gartner.

November '24 IT Procurement session, “How AI is upgrading IT Procurement” with Raj Bajaj and Endre Stogard of Accenture. Both discussed how generative AI is transforming Procurement Category Pathfinder: a blockbuster use case for IT Category Intelligence. They also gave an overview of a procurement technology journey and the lessons learned.

The October Artificial Intelligence Workgroup session, “Data Privacy and Security in AI: Challenges and Best Practices”. The session addressed the critical issues surrounding data privacy and security in AI systems. The session featured, Chris Kraft, Deputy CTO for AI and Emerging Technology at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security; Michele Jones, Chief Risk and Data Privacy Officer for the NYS Office of Information Technology Services; Louise DeCandia, Chief Privacy Officer at the NYS Education Department; and Natalie Helbig, Acting Director of the Center for Health Data Innovation at the NYS Department of Health. The panel explored advanced considerations for safeguarding sensitive data while adhering to regulatory standards, with a focus on responsible AI use across various domains, including law enforcement, education, disaster management, and healthcare.

Facilitated by Patrick Kanzler, Deputy Director of Enterprise Risk Management at the NYS Office of Information and Technology Services, the event fostered a collaborative environment for discussing best practices and innovative strategies to enhance data privacy and security in AI applications.
Overall, attendees left with a comprehensive understanding of the complexities involved in AI data management, equipped with actionable insights to improve their organizations' privacy and security measures.
