🌾🚜 Harvest Season Is Almost Here – Stay Safe Out There! ☀️🔥
With wheat harvest just around the corner, the Agar Fire Department wants to remind everyone to put safety first. The forecast is calling for temperatures near 100°, and that kind of heat can be dangerous for both people and equipment.
Here are a few reminders:
🌾 Stay hydrated—drink plenty of water throughout the day.
🧢 Take breaks in the shade or air conditioning whenever possible.
🚜 Check combines, tractors, and trucks for debris buildup, oil leaks, and worn bearings that could spark a fire.
🧯 Make sure every piece of equipment has a fully charged fire extinguisher.
🔥 Be extra cautious with hot equipment, exhaust systems, and anything that could ignite dry wheat or grass.
📱 Keep a phone nearby and know your location in case you need to call 911.
Harvest is one of the busiest and most rewarding times of the year, but it only takes a moment for heat exhaustion or a field fire to change everything.
The Agar Fire Department wishes everyone a safe, successful harvest. Look out for your neighbors, watch for slow-moving farm equipment on our roads, and let’s all do our part to bring everyone home safely.
Stay safe. Stay hydrated. Have a great harvest! 🚒🌾
