Riley Carter for Aberdeen City Council Ward 5 Position 9 2023 Hey everyone! Thank you so much for your support! Let's get to work!

Last night, at city hall we had a meeting about residents utility bill going up for EMS.
There were 3 people there that weren't affiliated with the city.
What I'm getting at, is we won't hear from anyone until their bill goes up and they wonder what happened.
It's very frustrating.
Anyways, next city council meeting is a big one.
We'll be voting to apply for a grant for the homeless empire. If this grant gets approved, it will not be a homeless shelter for Aberdeen, but the entire county of Grays Harbor, and it will be low barrier, meaning there will be no forcing people to NOT do drugs or drink. As in, they'll be able to do everything they're already doing under the bridge, only there will be more of them, inside a facility on land we're paying for.

Let's talk about it.

All of this was put together by the homeless response committee. The homeless response committee was put together by the city administrator Ruth Clemens. I was put on the homeless committee, but for some reason Ruth took me off of it. Probably because I speak with common sense, and since they haven't made any attempt to fix anything in the last couple years, they're trying to rush things along to get this grant last minute.

So, say everything gets approved and the empire is built. What does that change about the homeless situation for Aberdeen?
Absolutely nothing during the day. Nothing at all. If anything, there will be more homeless in our town, cause remember, this empire isn't for locals, but the entire county, and any and everyone that roams into our town.
Due to Washington State being the way it is, as in laws put in place by people you all voted for, the homeless can still do the same things they've been doing, only they won't be able to camp downtown anymore.
They can still sleep, go potty and use in public like they have been, but they won't be able to put a tent up anywhere, or park their mobile home anywhere. They'll have to camp and park their home at the homeless empire.
Also, the plan to maintain the place, or build the necessities required will require the council to vote in favor of more grants, or take it out of the general fund. The general fund already pays out around $25k a month to clean up the garbage under the bridge, so what the hell, right?
Wrong.
It's insane.
The general fund has roughly $20 million in it (all public information, it was quoted in front of the public at a meeting last night)
That general fund also funds EMS and all other services around the city.
Aberdeen doesn't really have a steady source of income, aside from the residents that are taxed beyond fairness for what they receive from their city.
This town has backed itself into a corner with the homeless crisis and at this point, there's no clean break or anything that will magically make it all better over night.
Regardless what action is taken, at this point it is going to take years and lots of change through the state government to get Aberdeen back to a place where it can function.

The mayor is all in favor of building this empire. Him and the city administrator Ruth think this is the greatest thing for Aberdeen since the invention of the chainsaw.
The facility and land are located in junction city.
Right next to the juvenile detention center.
What else is down there?
Oh yeah, a couple concrete plants and Sierra Pacific.
You know, a couple of businesses that have very large, very heavy, very fully loaded trucks constantly going back and forth on the ONE road in and out of there.
Makes sense, cause fully loaded log trucks and concrete trucks can stop on a dime when they come around a corner and there's an individual with a shopping cart slumped over in the middle of the road, right?
Wrong. As someone with a CDL, I can tell you those trucks will have no choice but have an accident and hope to hell nobody gets hurt.

It's going to cost more money for residents to basically bring more homeless people to Aberdeen.
And this, my friends, is what your city administrator and mayor have been working hard to put together for their residents.
And remember, when grants don't get granted, the difference will come out of your pocket one way or another.

Have a wonderful day.

At the Aberdeen city council meeting last night, my wife made a special speech. I didn't even know she had this planned.
She came up during public comment and handed an envelope with pictures to each council member and administrator.
She then told them to open the envelopes and gave the following speech. The pictures she gave them are in this post.
She's finally ready to talk.
I love and support this woman 100%.
Welcome to our reality.

I just wanted to show off my new hat to everyone. Thank you.

Good morning everyone!
I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready for the upcoming holidays!
Halloween is my personal favorite.
Anyways, let's talk shop.
The homeless camp underneath the bridge is out of control. The amount of mentally unstable people I've seen walking around downtown with weapons is very disturbing.
This town is not a free for all. This isn't the wild West.
My biggest concern is for the safety of the people who live, work and visit here.
From a citizens perspective, things are not getting better. They won't get better until things are voted out and laws are enforced.
Why is public safety even a question?
The other night, my wife and I were outside around 11 pm, trying to unwind after getting all the kids home and in bed, and there was an intoxicated individual across our street destroying a sign with steak knives and a golf club. My wife asked him if he was going to pay for it, he told my wife to shut up, called her the C word, then told her he was going to crush her skull.
That's when I got involved.
Long story short, I yelled at him, stopped him from advancing towards my house, and called the cops. The dude was as tall as me, wearing a neon green with white reflective strips T-shirt, and cargo shorts. He took off down the road. Cops showed up a few minutes later and said they couldn't find him. The guy was so drunk he could barely walk. But, the cops couldn't find him πŸ™„.
That type of stuff really pi**es me off, knowing there's loose cannons with weapons walking around like that.
What if I wouldn't have been there?
My wife is pregnant. What if he would have attacked her?
I'm sick of this crap, I hope you all are as well.
I want to make big changes for our small community.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.

Oh boy, the local antifa is at it again.
They're not wrong about the things I say, they do stretch it out as far as they can though.
The way they emphasize "He wants to see people get sober and get jobs!"
I love it.
I'll be on the Johnny Manson show this upcoming Monday at 7 am if anyone wants to talk about it.

Hello everyone!
I hope all of you are having an enjoyable summer.
Between family, work, work around the house and campaigning, the word busy is an understatement.
But I love every minute of it.
I want to thank every single person that I've met for the positivity, and all the friends I've made so far!
You all kick ass!
Make sure to get out and vote!
Vote Debi Pieraccini for Aberdeen Mayor!
If you're tired of not feeling safe or appreciated in your hometown, then get out and vote!
Your opinion matters more than you know.
As citizens, we have a duty to monitor those we appoint to make important decisions.
Despite what the media wants you to think, you, as an American, still have the freedom of choice.
That's a lot.
Stay safe out there.

Hello everyone!
I just wanted to take two of your seconds to say a few things.
First, thank you for all the support so far from everyone!
I knew it was going to be an adventure, and I'm thankful for all the positivity so far!
It's refreshing.
Second, no matter how you feel about the idiots running the country and our state, this is still America.
Land of the free because of the brave.
And bravery is what is needed most at this time in all of our lives.
We've all had much more than is necessary taken from us over the course of the last 3 years.
None of us asked for this. Majority of us don't deserve it.
Yet here we are, still grinding it out daily, always left in wonder.
However, there is one thing that you can have a little more control over, who it is that is working for you as a local, elected official.
Everyone has their own opinions, everyone has their own identity, but one thing we all have in common is we're all Americans, with freedom of choice.
I leave you in your thoughts with this, and thank you for taking the time to read this.
I hope all of you have an amazing, safe, adventurous 4th of July weekend (I'll be doing chores around the house)

Thank you to all that served, past present and future.

Hey everyone!
We took the babies for a drive around town to help them get a nap, so I thought it would be a good opportunity to make a little video with how I feel about certain things we deal with in our daily lives around downtown Aberdeen.
I really want people to get to know me, and what better way with me in my casual environment being myself.
Thank you much!
