Established in 2007 as a local community based organization in Kawempe Division (KAW/586), EMLI is one of Uganda’s local environmental NGOs accredited to intergovernmental organizations and conventions such as the UNFCCC, UNCCD, GEF NGO Network and UNEP. EMLI’s agenda is to empower local communities formulate and implement development plans and programmes that promote sustainable development.
