Hope For Children and Women Foundation Uganda conducted a joint Hygiene and Sanitation Campaign with the Buikwe District Health department.

Hope For Children and Women Foundation Uganda conducted a joint Hygiene and Sanitation Campaign with the Buikwe District Health department. The campaign focused in Kiyindi and Kakunyu landing sites which have the highest population and yet have the least pit latrine coverage and waste disposal centers. The communities were made aware of the dangers of Cholera and Bilharzia, the signs and symptoms, preventive measures and where to seek medical help. With help from Village Health Teams (VHT), it was discovered that many residents defecate around the lake and bushes and this practice was strongly discouraged.

Hope for Children and Women Foundation Uganda Continues to instill Hope among the Women and Children in Buikwe District and now it has embarked on making Re-Usable Menstrual Pads (RUMPs) and teaching others how to make them.

HIGH BIRTH RATE IN BUIKWE IS WORRYING AND OUR ROLE ME AND YOU IS TO EDUCATE, EMPOWER AND SUPPORT BOTH MOTHERS AND CHILDREN NOT JUDGING THEM.
