Brian Bonner is an American journalist with a long record in Ukraine’s media landscape. From 2008 to 2021, he served as the chief editor of the Kyiv Post, Ukraine's leading English-language newspaper, where he upheld a high standard of independent journalism. Before his time in Ukraine, Brian spent nearly 24 years at the St. Paul Pioneer Press in Minnesota, covering essential community issues, including police, courts, and city hall.
Currently, Brian hosts Ukraine Calling, a weekly English-language podcast on Hromadske Radio that provides valuable insights into Ukraine’s current affairs. In March 2024, he joined The Cipher Brief, where he contributes his expertise on Ukraine and international security matters.

This debate continues Democrats Abroad Ukraine's longstanding tradition of hosting pre-election discussions each U.S. Presidential Election cycle.

For the FIFTH consecutive quadrennial US Presidential Election, Democrats Abroad Ukraine will be participating in a pre-election - in this case - Election Eve surrogate Presidential Debate featuring Reno Domenico, Chairman of Democrats Abroad Ukraine, and longtime resident of Ukraine, Peter Teluk. Brian Bonner, esteemed journalist and longtime editor of the Kyiv Post will moderate the debate.
