⚠️ Remember: A visa has specific validity dates and conditions. Overstaying or breaching these conditions may have serious legal consequences.

Know the limits of government assistance. DIRCO cannot:

❌ Intervene in visa disputes between South Africans and foreign employers.
❌ Intervene in foreign court proceedings or legal matters arising from visa violations.
❌ Request preferential treatment for South African citizens from foreign authorities.
❌ Provide accommodation, flights, work or study permits, or other arrangements for your return or continued stay.

✅ Before you travel: Check your visa requirements, keep your passport and travel documents safe, respect local laws and stay informed about changes to immigration requirements.

Mwezi wa Urithi, unaosherehekewa mwezi wa Septemba, unathibitisha jukumu la Afrika Kusini katika kuhifadhi na kukuza urithi wake wa kitamaduni wa aina mbalimbali kwa ajili ya ujenzi wa taifa, mshik**ano wa kijamii na maendeleo endelevu.

Unahimiza tafakari, kusherehekea utofauti wa tamaduni na kuimarisha hisia ya kuwa sehemu ya jamii inayozingatia heshima, usawa, kutokugawanyika kwa rangi, kutokukatili kwa kijinsia na Ubuntu.

Mnamo mwaka wa 2026, Mwezi wa Urithi unasherehekewa chini ya kaulimbiu: “Kusherehekea Urithi Wetu Uliyo Hai: Kuimarisha Vihusiano Vinavyotuunganisha.” Unasisitiza urithi hai k**a usemi unaoendelea wa utambulisho, kumbukumbu na mshik**ano kupitia lugha, muziki, dansi, sherehe, desturi za mdomo, maarifa ya asili, ufundi, imani na mila.

Heritage Month, observed in September, affirms South Africa’s commitment to preserving and promoting its diverse cultural heritage for nation-building, social cohesion and sustainable development.

It encourages reflection, celebrates cultural diversity and strengthens belonging rooted in dignity, equality, non-racialism, non-sexism and Ubuntu.

In 2026, Heritage Month is commemorated under the theme: “Celebrating Our Living Heritage: Strengthening the Ties That Bind Us.” It highlights living heritage as a dynamic expression of identity, memory and belonging through languages, music, dance, rituals, oral traditions, indigenous knowledge, craftsmanship, beliefs and customs.

Her Excellency High Commissioner Noluthando Mayende-Malepe met with Her Excellency Hon. Asha-Rose Mtengeti Migiro, Secretary General of Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), on 29 August 2026 at Mazimbu, Morogoro, to discuss the Mazimbu Memorial Wall Initiative.

The initiative aims to establish a memorial wall in honour of the heroes and heroines of South Africa’s liberation struggle. The proposal was warmly received by the Secretary General, and both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued collaboration beyond the conceptualisation phase.

Mheshimiwa Balozi Mkuu Noluthando Mayende-Malepe alikutana na Mheshimiwa Asha-Rose Mtengeti Migiro, Katibu Mkuu wa Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM), tarehe 29 Agosti 2026 katika Mazimbu, Morogoro, kujadili Mpango wa Ukuta wa Kumbukumbu wa Mazimbu.

Mpango huu unalenga kujenga ukuta wa kumbukumbu kwa ajili ya kuenzi mashujaa na mashujaa wanawake wa harakati za ukombozi za Afrika Kusini. Pendekezo hilo lilipokelewa vyema na Katibu Mkuu, na pande zote mbili ziliimarisha dhamira yao ya kuendeleza ushirikiano hata baada ya hatua ya uandaaji wa dhana ya mradi huo
