🆘✈️ URGENT APPEAL: 6 SURVIVORS NEED FLIGHT TICKETS HOME

This is not just a story. This is a cry for help.
Please don’t turn a blind-eye.

One of the survivors currently being assisted by Mercy Moves International left home believing he had secured a legitimate job that would allow him to provide for his wife and three children. Instead, he was trafficked into a scam compound where he and others were subjected to horrific abuse.

🆘 According to his handwritten testimony:

• They worked long hours without pay.
• They were denied access to their phones.
• They endured corporal punishment and electric shocks.
• Some lost their eyesight.
• Others suffered severe mental trauma.
• One of their friends was beaten to death in front of them.

After escaping that nightmare, he now finds himself detained and unable to return home because he cannot afford a flight ticket.

He has been in detention for three months.

His wife has been unable to raise the funds needed to bring him home.

His three children are no longer attending school.

In his letter he writes:

“I would be most grateful if you can think of assisting me to get back home and take care of the family before my family is destroyed.”

🆘 He is not alone.

There are FIVE other survivors in similar circumstances who are also desperately waiting for the opportunity to return home and rebuild their lives.

Today, we are not asking for luxury.
We are not asking for comfort.

We are asking for flight tickets.

A flight ticket means:
✈️ Reuniting a father with his family.
✈️ Restoring hope to children.
✈️ Giving a survivor a chance to rebuild.
✈️ Bringing someone safely home.

Every day, people travel abroad searching for opportunity, work, safety, or a better future.

But not every journey goes as planned.

Some individuals suddenly find themselves detained, trafficked, stranded, imprisoned, exploited, or completely cut off from their families in a foreign country — often without knowing who to trust or where to turn for help.

And for the families back home…
the fear, confusion, and helplessness can be overwhelming.

Many people simply do not know:

• who to contact
• how embassy processes work
• or that support and guidance may even exist

At Mercy Moves International we work to help vulnerable individuals and families navigate these difficult situations across Southeast Asia.

📆 Wednesday, May 13th, was a public holiday, and due to traveling and a very full schedule, I unfortunately forgot to post reminders that there would not be a live update or Faith Talks last week. Please forgive me.

Ashley is doing well overall, God touched her once again and she back to strength again.
She’s in good health.
Praise the Lord🙌

🙏 God is faithful at the end of each day.

⛈️ We’re in monsoon season and we do thinly have a lot of wind, but rain as well. Ashley mentioned that she is thankful for the cooler weather after the intense heat, but the rainy season also brings its own challenges. Clothing and laundry struggle to dry properly, and constantly wet conditions can create discomfort and additional health concerns.

Every season carries its own difficulties, but by the grace of God, He continues to carry them through each one.

📚 On Friday, I was able to deliver new study material for Ashley. She confirmed she received it today! Wow!🤩 This was the quickest turnaround ever!!! Normally it would take a month to two months before she would receive her books!

📘📗📕In addition to this, Ashley mentioned that many of the Thai women had expressed how much they wished they could receive more books to read. After making some inquiries, I was blessed to receive a donation of 94 books from a university, which I’ve donated this morning.

I was hoping that our local library would have some novals available for donation, but it turned out they don’t. I’ll continue my search.

🎶🙏 Another special blessing is that my local Thai church had praise and worship booklets printed for Ashley’s fellowship church inside.

I also intend to create a Traditional Chinese version in the future so that the Chinese ladies may also have worship and prayer booklets available in their own language.

I have sent all these plus the Chinese Bibles and other Christian books, together with the book-donation. I trust everything will make it to the library.

Yet another amazing testimony is that after I prayed that the Lord will provide dates for Ashley as well, as I was purchasing a small pannet before boarding my train May 8th, He was faithful once again and the letter I received on the following Monday from Ashley, she told me there were some dates available again! 🥰🙌 hallelujah🙌 Thank You Jesus🙇‍♀️

🤩 We believe there will be another in-person contact visit within the next month or two.

🦷 The dentist made a visit this week and next, and Ashley shared that she is scheduled to have her teeth scraped on the 27th of this month. They had a lucky draw where 100 people received fluoride treatment. It just so happened that Ashley didn’t add her name for some reason, but then this morning she got called and they told her she could have the treatment as well! There was a workshop on how to take care of one’s teeth as well, which Ashley said she enjoyed attending.

🆘 Yesterday, for example, a lady commented that her ex-husband had found himself in serious trouble here in Thailand, and they had not been able to make contact with him since January.

🔴 Most people don’t know where to start in situations like these. I have learned a lot, and by the grace of God, many doors have opened to assist people in different situations of distress. Glory be to God alone🙌
You never know, but through you sharing or talking about what I do, might be the the reason:
🔗 someone gets connected again to their loved ones
🔐⛓️someone getting out of a trafficking situation
✈️ someone getting the help that’s needed to get them back home safely

🚨 It is situations like these that reminds me why awareness matters so much!

⁉️ Many people simply do not know what steps can be taken when a loved one is detained, trafficked, stranded, imprisoned abroad, or facing immigration difficulties in another country.
Families often feel overwhelmed, confused, isolated, and unsure where to begin.

🌿 Testimony - Glorifying God🙌

📣 Share your testimony with us to glorify God’s name and to bring hope to others.

Regarding the ‘why’…
your statement resonates with my own experience. Yes, there are those of us who really do not ask ‘why’.

I have been in active treatment for active cancer since Nov 2015 - stage 4 metastatic disease since Mar 2018. This is treatable, not (humanly) curable, and ultimately terminal.

I have never asked God ‘why’.
My faith is not perfect, and I do struggle with personal conflictions. But ‘why’ never even entered my thoughts. ‘What’ is my question. What am I to learn from this’.
Or ‘what am I suppose to do with this.’

These are the parallels between Ashley’s experiences and my own:
There is immense power in the stories of those of us who are in the midst of incredible challenges, people currently immersed in the storm. People who, despite overwhelming circumstances, persevere in their faith.

The way I see it: God never promised us an easy life. Belief in God is not a magic ticket to an idyllic, problem-free, painless life here on earth. Everyone suffers, everyone struggles - whether you believe in God or not.

The difference between believers and non-believers is not the absence of suffering. It’s hope and strength and comfort amidst the suffering, the grace of God that helps us through the dark times.

God allowed me to get cancer in order to finally reach me. To get my attention, to leave me with no other option but to run to Him.

God is good at this, at using things that were supposed to break and destroy us and turning them into something that makes us stronger. Some of the greatest blessings come from God’s power in the midst of our misery. He changes us, improves us in the difficult times. And through it all, He is with us.

But it’s not just about us. He uses our situations to reach others.
How we act when we’re under pressure, when life batters and bruises us, can be a powerful message.

Your and Ashley’s message is a profound testament and I am thankful that it is being shared with such diligence.🌼
