MMHI , “Myanmar Mountain Information Hub” is the information center of Myanmar Mountains. Myanmar has many mountain ranges, starting from the Far North, subrange of Greater Himalayan’s frontier Hkkaborazi & its Ice & SnowCapped range to the Rakhine Yoma, the Bago Yoma, the Shan Hills and the Tenasserim Hills exist within Burma/Myanmar, all of which run north-to-south from the Himalay
as. Myanmar is the only country with Sountheast Asia, boasting 5881*meter towering Hkakaborazi , Southeast Asia’s Highest Peak. MMIH- “Myanmar Mountain Information Hub” is a non-profit and non-governmental organization - Learning & knowledge sharing center, designed to develop and maintain the database of the information* of the mountains in Myanmar, for travelers, hiking associations teams, individuals. Designing to develop the database and to provide the Information* of the Myanmar Mountains such as GPS coordinates, locations, trails, campsites, wildlife species, culture and social stutus of the local Ethnic people, Rules & Regulations of the National Reserved Parks, Wildlife species of its area, and emergency contact numbers. Our vision is to gathering all mountain related information from various organizations and developing a database, Proving the information for safe, secure and effective travel on Myanmar Mountains to all travelers, organizations, and at the same time helping the local Mountain People. At the same time surveying Mountain Geography, Environmental impacts, its Wildlife Species, Flora & Fauna, climate change- overall fragile mountain ecosystems and the livelihoods of mountain people. Global Warming, Climate Change, poor income generating and regional poverty have an increasing influence on the stability of mountain environment. MMIH aims to assist Myanmar people in mountainous area to understand these changes, adapt to the challenges, and to get their income generating and the most of new opportunities.
