Czechia strongly condemns the terrorist attack on the Imam Ali mosque in Syrian Homs that claimed innocent lives. We express our sincere condolences to the victims’ families and support the Syrian government in its fight against the Daesh terrorists.

التشيك تُدين بشدة الهجوم الإرهابي الذي استهدف مسجد الإمام علي في مدينة حمص السورية، والذي أودى بحياة أبرياء. ونعرب عن خالص تعازينا لأسر الضحايا، ونؤكد دعمنا للحكومة السورية في جهودها لمكافحة إرهابيي تنظيم داعش.

An opening ceremony of the water treatment plant in Adra Al Jadideh was held, in the presence of the Governor of Rural Damascus Mr. Amer Al Sheikh, Deputy Minister of Water Resources Mr. Osama Abu Zaid, the Director General of the General Organization for Drinking Water in Damascus and its Countryside Mr. Ahmad Darwish, and representatives of the Embassy of the Czech Republic.

The projects in Adra Al Jadideh and Yalda were financed through the governmental reconstruction program for the Middle East.

أُقيم حفل افتتاح محطة معالجة المياه في عدرا الجديدة، بحضور محافظ ريف دمشق السيد عامر الشيخ، ونائب وزير الموارد المائية السيد أسامة أبو زيد، والمدير العام للمؤسسة العامة لمياه الشرب في دمشق وريفها السيد أحمد درويش، إضافةً إلى ممثلين عن سفارة جمهورية التشيك.

وقد تم تمويل مشروعي عدرا الجديدة ويلدا من خلال برنامج إعادة الإعمار الحكومي لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط.

As part of the Czech Republic’s humanitarian aid program in Syria, representatives of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus conducted a monitoring visit to the water treatment plant in Yalda, Rural Damascus.

The project — which is currently under construction — will provide safe drinking water for around 30,000 people, significantly improving water and sanitation services in the area.

The visit, held together with Mr. Ahmad Darwish, the Director General of the General Organization for Drinking Water in Damascus and its Countryside, reflects the Czech Republic’s continued commitment to supporting sustainable water solutions and improving living conditions for local communities.

This initiative also demonstrates the utility of Czech expertise and technical know-how, turning practical innovation and engineering precision into tangible benefits for people’s daily lives.

في إطار برنامج المساعدات الإنسانية الذي تقدمه جمهورية التشيك في سوريا، قام ممثلو سفارة جمهورية التشيك في دمشق بزيارة ميدانية للتحقق من سير أعمال محطة معالجة المياه في بلدة يلدا بريف دمشق.

يهدف المشروع، الذي لا يزال قيد التنفيذ، إلى تأمين مياه شرب آمنة لحوالي 30 ألف شخص، والمساهمة في تحسين خدمات المياه والصرف الصحي في المنطقة.

وجرت الزيارة بحضور السيد أحمد درويش، المدير العام للمؤسسة العامة لمياه الشرب في دمشق وريفها، تأكيدًا على التزام جمهورية التشيك بدعم الحلول المستدامة في مجال المياه وتحسين ظروف المعيشة للمجتمعات المحلية.

كما تُبرز هذه المبادرة قيمة الخبرة والمعرفة التقنية التشيكية في تحويل الابتكار العملي والدقة الهندسية إلى فوائد ملموسة في حياة الناس اليومية.

Strengthening Economic Bridges Between Czechia and Syria.

The Economic Diplomat of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus held a meeting with Mr. Ala’a Alali, President of the Federation of Syrian Chambers of Commerce.
The discussion focused on opportunities for future economic cooperation and private-sector partnerships across strategic sectors, including energy, industrial production, agriculture, and reconstruction projects.

President Alali expressed strong interest in further developing bilateral business relations and extended an official invitation to the President of the Czech Chamber of Commerce Zdenek Zajicek to visit Syria in the near future.
Czech business community maintains a historical legacy in Syria - based on trust, engineering excellence, and decades of successful industrial cooperation.

As Syria looks toward economic recovery and development, Czech companies and know-how are ready to contribute to practical, mutually beneficial solutions.

تعزيز الجسور الاقتصادية بين التشيك وسوريا

عقد الدبلوماسي الاقتصادي في سفارة جمهورية التشيك في دمشق اجتماعًا مع السيد علاء العلي، رئيس اتحاد غرف التجارة السورية.
تركّزت المناقشة على فرص التعاون الاقتصادي المستقبلي والشراكات بين القطاعين العام والخاص في قطاعات استراتيجية تشمل الطاقة، والإنتاج الصناعي، والزراعة، ومشاريع إعادة الإعمار.

أعرب الرئيس العلي عن اهتمام قوي بتطوير العلاقات التجارية الثنائية بشكل أكبر، ووجّه دعوة رسمية إلى رئيس غرفة التجارة التشيكية زدينيك زايتشيك لزيارة سوريا في المستقبل القريب.

Strengthening Industrial Partnership in Syria

Last week, the Economic Diplomat of the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Damascus visited the Homs oil refinery - the first official Czech diplomatic presence at the facility in nearly three decades.
The main focus of the visit was exploring Czech participation in the planned rehabilitation of the refinery's power and steam generation unit, including two 32MW steam turbines.
Czech companies, engineers and technical experts enjoy a long-standing reputation in Syria thanks to decades of successful cooperation on major industrial and infrastructural projects.
As Syria prepares for a new phase of energy reconstruction, Czech know-how and technology stand ready to support sustainable and reliable energy solutions in key national industries.

تعزيز الشراكة الصناعية في سوريا

في الأسبوع الماضي، زار الملحق الاقتصادي في سفارة جمهورية التشيك بدمشق مصفاة حمص للنفط – وهي أول زيارة دبلوماسية تشيكية رسمية إلى المنشأة منذ ما يقارب ثلاثة عقود.

كان التركيز الرئيسي للزيارة على استكشاف إمكانية مشاركة الجانب التشيكي في خطة إعادة تأهيل وحدة توليد الطاقة والبخار في المصفاة، بما في ذلك توربينان بخاريان بقدرة 32 ميغاواط لكل منهما.

تتمتع الشركات والمهندسون والخبراء الفنيون التشيك بسمعة راسخة في سوريا بفضل عقود من التعاون الناجح في المشاريع الصناعية والبنى التحتية الكبرى.

ومع استعداد سوريا لمرحلة جديدة من إعادة إعمار قطاع الطاقة، فإن الخبرة والتكنولوجيا التشيكية جاهزتان لدعم حلول طاقة مستدامة وموثوقة في الصناعات الوطنية الرئيسية.

Ambassador of the Czech Republic, Vítězslav Pivoňka, met with Huda Atassi, Syrian activist and co-founder of IHR.
The meeting was constructive and focused on exploring opportunities for cooperation in the field of humanitarian projects and supporting initiatives that benefit the Syrian people.

The Czech Republic reaffirms its commitment to working with local and international partners to provide assistance and to strengthen humanitarian efforts in Syria.

President of the Syrian Arab Republic, Mr. Ahmad Al-Shar’a met with the President of the Czech Republic, Mr. Petr Pavel, in the presence of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Asaad Al-Shaibani, on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York City.
We were proud to witness this meeting, which stands as a symbol of the true friendship between our two countries.

The delegation led by the Director General for Non-European Countries and Development Cooperation Kateřina Sequensová visited the war-devastated city of Douma, which was targeted by a chemical attack seven years ago. The Czech Republic supports the reconstruction of an orphanage, and Czech companies, under the Czech Reconstruction Programme for the Middle East, delivered a water treatment plant serving 60,000 people.

زار الوفد، الذي تقوده المديرة العامة للدول غير الأوروبية والتعاون الإنمائي كاتر̌ينا سيكونسوفا، المدينة المدمرة بالحرب دوما، التي تعرّضت لهجوم كيماوي قبل سبع سنوات.
تدعم جمهورية التشيك إعادة إعمار دار للأيتام، وقد قامت الشركات التشيكية، ضمن برنامج إعادة الإعمار التشيكي لمنطقة الشرق الأوسط، بتوفير محطة معالجة مياه تخدم 60,000 شخص.
