Ministry of Investment welcomed the newly appointed Undersecretary Hon. Amb. Martha Nyamal Chuol today at the ministry premise.
The ceremony which is organized and chaired by the Minister Hon. Amb. Joseph Moum Majak was attended by the outgoing Undersecretary, Hon. Paul Polo Ongee, Director Generals, all the staff, Nuer Cultural Dancers and members of the public.
The welcoming has also been graced with the showers of rain as a blessings.

Hon. Amb. Joseph Moum Majak: Strengthening Investment Ties Between Egypt and South Sudan.

April 28, 2026

Cairo, Egypt – Hon. Amb. Joseph Moum Majak, the Minister of Investment for South Sudan, recently led a delegation on a vital investment study tour in Egypt. This visit reflects the ongoing commitment to deepening bilateral relations and enhancing investment opportunities between our two nations.

During the meeting hosted by H.E. Dr. Mohamed Farid Saleh, Egyptian Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade and leaders and representatives from the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI), discussions focused on comparing investment promotion structures and sharing best practices. Minister Majak expressed gratitude for Egypt's historical support of South Sudan's independence and ongoing development, underscoring the importance of mutual cooperation in fostering economic growth.

Key highlights from the discussions included:

- Exchange of insights on the "one-stop-shop" service model, which aims to streamline investor experiences by consolidating various permit processes. South Sudan looks forward to adopting similar approaches to enhance its investment landscape.

- Identification of promising sectors for collaboration, including agribusiness, general infrastructure development, Mining, ITC and Finance sectors and energy. South Sudan presented a portfolio of over 60 investment projects, demonstrating its readiness to engage with Egyptian partners.

- Emphasis on the importance of a dedicated Ministry of Investment, as experienced by Egypt, to effectively advocate for investment priorities and facilitate smoother operations within the government.

Both delegations expressed strong aspirations for continued dialogue and collaborative initiatives, especially in public-private partnerships and digital transformation. The visit reinforced the shared vision for economic integration in the region and commitment to working together towards mutual prosperity.

Minister Majak is optimistic about the future of South Sudan’s investment landscape and is grateful for the guidance and support offered by the Egyptian government.

Ministry of Investment South Sudan Held Meeting with Ministry of Agriculture Ahead of Agricultural Conference.

The Deputy minister of Agriculture Hon. Lily Albino Akol pay courtesy meetings to the Minister Ambassador. Joseph Mum Majak at his Ministry to strengthen the area of collaboration ahead of the upcoming Agriculture Conference to be convene next month. The Minister Joseph applauded their visit and acknowledge the role to be played by Investment Ministry during the conference.

The Agricultural Conference was initiated and approved by the councils of Ministers last month. The conference will showcase the rich fertile Agriculture Lands in the Country to investors in the Conference. The meetings was attended by Undersecretary of Agricultural Ministry, Hon. Kenyi Undersecretary of Investment Ministry, Hon. Paul Palo, Technical Advisor Hon. Ariath Geng Ariath and Seniors DGs, Ministry of Investment.

On Date 30th of January Honorable Undersecretary, Ministry of Investment covened meeting drawing all participants from (10) ministries and (2) from Chambers of Commerce. The meeting focuses on concepts notes, confirmation of the participants from all institutions in upcoming forum, In the attendance were the Ambassador of South Sudan to Kenya H.E Ambassador Anthony Kon together with Businesslady Mrs. Mary Atong Manyuat & seniors government officials from Investment Ministry. The upcoming investment facilitation forums will brought regional investors in Kenya to participate in line with South Sudan investments areas mapped.
