Today, I joined H.E. President Salva Kiir, our men and women in uniform, the gallant SPLM Party, and our citizens to commemorate the 43rd anniversary of the Sudan People’s Liberation Army (SPLA), now known as the South Sudan People’s Defense Forces (SSPDF).

We remember and honor all our heroes who sacrificed their lives for the country we have today. Without their strength, resilience, diligence, and sacrifice, we would still be second-class citizens in our own country.

Thank you to the SPLA/SPLM. May the path forward be defined by continued unity of purpose and renewed commitment to developing our beloved nation.

God bless South Sudan. God bless the SPLA/SPLM.

Fellow South Sudanese,

Today, as we commemorate the labour day, I am reminded that it is through your sacrifice and dedication that we are moving forward as a nation.

May this day also remind us of the importance of our unity. Together we stand and divided we fall.

I call upon all of us to build a system that serve us all and will continue to serve generations to come with respect and dignity.

Happy Labour Day!

In light of the tragic plane accident that happened yesterday in Juba around Luri Payam, I convey my heartfelt condolences to all the affected families.

It is unfortunate that the 14 lives lost include prominent government official, journalists, a banker, members of the civil society all of whom are contributing to the development of our country.

May God comfort us all at this difficult time and grant eternal rest unto the departed souls.

Reflecting on the unfortunate fire incident that occurred in Custom Market, I stand in solidarity with all the victims of the situation.

I reiterate the call by H.E. President Salva Kiir Mayardit for a thorough investigation into the cause of the incident.

Situations like this can lead to major economic setbacks. Therefore, I call for a support to the affected traders and encourage the concerned institutions to consider proper restructuring of our markets to avoid such incidents nationwide.
