JONGLEI GOVERNOR BRIEFS SPLM SECRETARY GENERAL ON SECURITY, SERVICE DELIVERY, AND PARTY REGISTRATION

The Governor of Jonglei State, H.E. Dr. Riek G*i Kok, has briefed the Secretary General of the Sudan Peopleโ€™s Liberation Movement (SPLM), Dr. Akol Paul Kordit, on the overall situation in the state.
The briefing focused on key issues, including security, service delivery, and the ongoing SPLM membership registration and mobilisation campaign across Jonglei State.
During the meeting, Governor Dr. Riek G*i Kok outlined the security situation across the state and highlighted ongoing government efforts to bring essential services closer to communities at the grassroots level.
A major focus of the briefing was the ongoing SPLM membership registration and mobilisation exercise, which is being conducted from the village and Boma levels through Payam and county levels.
Governor Riek G*i Kok said Dr. Akol Paul Kordit welcomed the progress of the registration and mobilisation exercise and expressed satisfaction with the work being carried out across Jonglei State.
The SPLM Secretary General encouraged the Jonglei State Government and party structures to sustain the registration and mobilisation campaign, emphasizing the importance of reaching communities at every level of the grassroots.
Dr. Akol Paul Kordit stressed that effective mobilisation and membership registration from the village, Boma, Payam, and county levels are essential to strengthening the SPLMโ€™s grassroots structures and expanding its presence across Jonglei State.

JUBA, August 7, 2026 โ€“ President Salva Kiir Mayardit has received updates from the Governor of Jonglei, Dr. Riek G*i Kok, on the general security situation in the state, with the governor reporting that Jonglei is currently enjoying relative stability.

Dr. Kok noted that the security situation across the state has improved significantly, allowing communities to carry out their daily activities in a more peaceful environment.

On the issue of flooding, the governor said the state government, in collaboration with development partners, has successfully constructed d***s to protect communities, farmland, and property from floodwaters. He noted that the intervention has encouraged the return of large numbers of cattle herders who had previously migrated to Central Equatoria, Lakes, and Western Equatoria states in search of safer grazing areas.

Dr. Kok also highlighted improving relations between the people of Jonglei State and the Greater Pibor Administrative Area, saying the two communities are now working collaboratively to promote peace and coexistence. He added that trade between the two areas has resumed and is progressing well, contributing to economic recovery and stronger ties.

The governor further reported that the government has made significant gains in northern Jonglei, where local communities are now cooperating closely with the military to maintain peace and enhance security in the region.

Officials say the briefing underscores the governmentโ€™s ongoing efforts to consolidate peace, strengthen security, and address humanitarian challenges in Jonglei State.

The questions arise are about contention issued in the peace agreement accords in 2018, permanent constitution making process, resettlements of the refugee in diaspora, Disarmment of Civil populations, delay of the salary of Civil Servants and the Electoral process in general elections.
We continue educating our citizens about the important of elections is to choose their representatives, ensure peaceful Power transfer, hold leaders accountable and promote participation in the public and decisions making,

Jonglei State is not for the weak and H.E Dr Riek G*i Kok Governor of Jonglei State and Chairperson of SPLM is ready to lead the people and government of Jonglei without doubtful

SPLM' REGISTRATION EXERCISE STARTS IN BOR

Thursday 06, July 2026: Today marks an important milestone in SPLM democratic journey with an official launch of Registration Exercise. This event demonstrates our collective commitment to democracy, constitutional governance, political participation, and the rule of law.

The launch of registration is to aware all members of Duk Community; it is a significant step toward consolidating democracy, peace, and good governance in SPLM Duk County. Let us work together to build a political culture founded on dialogue, tolerance, participation, and respect for the law.
Lastly: Hon. Samuel Ador Thon Ador urged everyone to register, while ready to vote for His Excellency Salva Kiir Mayardid.

Cde Joseph Ayok, Cde Paul Deng Makuach, DG Simon Machiek, Mama Adau Leek, Mama Nyanwuor Machamriel and Community leaders (Cde Abraham Mading Deng and Cde John Ayuel Nhial) urged Duk Community to maintain this base and advocate for everyone to register, the registration book will be move from location to location in order to register more members.
