CONDOLENCE MESSAGE ON THE PASSING OF THE RIGHT HONOURABLE RAILA ODINGA

TO THE PEOPLE OF KENYA AND THE ORANGE DEMOCRATIC MOVEMENT

On behalf of the People's Progressive Party of South Sudan, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the family of the Right Honourable Raila Odinga, the entire Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) fraternity, and the people of Kenya, following the tragic news of his passing.
The late Raila Odinga was a towering figure whose legacy as a voice for the voiceless and a tireless advocate for good governance extends far beyond Kenya's borders.

His dedication to democratic reform and justice was an inspiration to many across East Africa and the continent. His leadership, resilience, and commitment to the welfare of his people will be profoundly missed.

We recall his significant contributions to regional stability, including his instrumental role in mediating the power-sharing agreement that ended the 2007–08 post-election violence in Kenya. He leaves behind a legacy of selfless service and an unwavering commitment to dialogue and reform, demonstrating that a better, more inclusive political system is always within reach.
As the people of Kenya mourn this immense loss, we stand in solidarity with you during this period of grief. May his legacy continue to inspire future generations of leaders to uphold the principles of justice, democracy, and good governance for which he so passionately fought.
May his soul rest in eternal peace.

South Sudan People's Defence Forces is recruiting 3000 new recruits, and the active soldiers have 1 full year and 3 months without salaries. Why not maintaining the existing forces instead of adding more frustration?
What will motivate young people to join the army where a soldier receives 30,000 SSP only after a year, an amount of money which can't afford 25 kg of maize flour leave alone medication, school fees, military uniform among other privileges that a national army deserve.

Dear South Sudanese Christians,

I extend warm greetings to you all on this blessed occasion of Easter, the holiest festival of our Christian faith. As we celebrate the resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ, let us also reflect on the message of hope, love, and forgiveness that he taught us.

Easter is a time for renewal and rebirth, both individually and collectively. It reminds us of the sacrifices that our Lord made for us, and the promise of eternal life that he offers. As we commemorate this sacred event, let us commit ourselves to building a better future for our nation, South Sudan.

In the spirit of Easter, let us strive for peace, unity, and reconciliation among ourselves. Let us put aside our differences and work together to build a nation that is prosperous, just, and free from suffering. The Future of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan, 2018: The Best Way to Follow Between the Implementation and Abrogation

The People's Progressive Party of South Sudan's call for the abrogation of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan and the reconstitution of a technocratic Caretaker Government to prepare for the country's first general elections scheduled for 2026 is a valid concern.

The lack of political will from the principal parties to implement the agreement and the slide back into war have made it clear that a new approach is needed.

The proposal for a technocratic Caretaker Government is a promising one, as it could potentially provide the necessary stability and expertise to guide the country towards its first general elections. This would be a significant step towards democracy and peace in South Sudan.

However, it is important to note that any such changes must be made through a transparent and inclusive process that involves all stakeholders, including the people of South Sudan.

It is also crucial that the international community continues to support the peace process and provides necessary resources to ensure a successful transition to democracy.

Press Statement

Fellow South Sudanese citizens,

First and foremost, the People's Progressive Party strongly condemns the SPLMs for intentionally violating the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of Conflict in South Sudan, 2018 by resuming the hostilities at a time when the country is expected to prepare to end the transitional government which had been mistreating citizens for the last 7 years plus.

The recent physical confrontation between the two forces violates the Geneva Protocols under international humanitarian law and the two conflicting parties must bear the responsibilities. This is another way of avoiding a democratic elections where the neglected people of South Sudan will decide their fade.

The People's Progressive Party message to the people of South Sudan is that they deserve better than the current state of affairs where the two principal parties to the agreement are using divisive tactics to maintain their grip on power.

It is time for all citizens to come together, regardless of tribe or region, and demand equal and equitable distribution of resources. The bloodshed and suffering that has plagued the country for far too long must come to an end.

The future of South Sudan lies in the hands of its people, and it is up to each and every one of us to ensure that our voices are heard and our rights are respected.
Young people should stop killing each other for the interests of individual families rather than the national interests.
In a nutshell, the PPP extend our heartfelt condolences to the bereaved families from both sides of the conflict and urges all to de-escalate the violent conflicts with immediate effect for the benefit of our progress.

Two Years of President Ibrahim Traoré 🇧🇫

1. Burkina Faso's GDP grew from approximately $18.8 billion to $22.1 billion.

2. He has rejected loans from the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank. He said, "Africa doesn't need the World Bank, IMF, Europe, or America."

3. He reduced the salaries of ministers and parliamentarians by 30% and increased the salaries of civil servants by 50%.

4. He paid off Burkina Faso's local debts.

5. He established two tomato processing plants, the first-ever in Burkina Faso.

6. In 2023, he inaugurated a state-of-the-art gold mine to enhance local processing capabilities.

7. He stopped the export of unrefined Burkina Faso gold to Europe.

8. He built Burkina Faso’s second cotton processing plant. Previously, the country had only one.

9. He opened the first-ever National Support Center for Artisanal Cotton Processing to assist local cotton farmers.

10. He banned the wearing of British legal wigs and gowns in local courts and introduced traditional Burkinabé attire.

11. He prioritized agriculture by distributing over 400 tractors, 239 tillers, 710 motor pumps, and 714 motorcycles to boost production and support rural stakeholders.

12. He provided access to improved seeds and other farm inputs to maximize agricultural output.

13. Tomato production in Burkina Faso increased from 315,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 360,000 metric tonnes in 2024.

14. Millet production rose from 907,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 1.1 million metric tonnes in 2024.

15. Rice production increased from 280,000 metric tonnes in 2022 to 326,000 metric tonnes in 2024.

16. He banned French military operations in Burkina Faso.

17. He banned French media in Burkina Faso.

18. He expelled French troops from Burkina Faso.

19. His government is constructing new roads, widening existing ones, and upgrading gravel roads to paved surfaces.

20. He is building a new airport, the Ouagadougou-Donsin Airport, which is expected to be completed in 2025.

Think about 20 years of leadership in South Sudan 🇸🇸 We need a transformational leader to bring about the fundamental change in the reasonable time.

Announcement:

Fellow South Sudanese,

Since our protest venue is sieged and blocked by the government security forces at the University of Juba this morning, we have opted to start our peaceful demonstration at Hai-Tajaria against the mass killings of our fellow innocent South Sudanese citizens in Khartoum, Sudan.

The government of South Sudan have failed to show sympathy for the loss caused by unprofessional Sudanese army and instead resort to restrict the patriotic citizens who are sympathising with their fellow people being slaughtered in Wad Madeni, Sudan yesterday.

This killing shouldn't be condoned and went un- condemned. It's an egregious violation of the principles of international humanitarian law (the law of the war) and so, tit for tat should be applied as a reciprocal response to Sudan in accordance with the international law principle of tit for tat.

The People's Progressive Party strongly condemned the mass killings of innocent people of South Sudan 🇸🇸 and we are hereby sending our heartfelt condolences to the Republic of South Sudan for the unfortunate loss of her citizens in the neighboring Sudan.

We call for accountability for the murderers as soon as possible otherwise, Sudanese citizens in South Sudan will face the consequences.

Captain Ibrahim Traore, President of Burkina Faso, reduces salaries of ministers and salaries of politicians by 30%... Increases worker's salaries by 50%... and refuses to accept the salary of President. He maintains his Military Captain's salary. Is this one from Africa? Is he a Blackman? This thing has to do with the mind and the spirit of contentment, and the Fear of Almighty God.

This is the simple definition of a transformational leadership that People's Progressive Party envisioned for.👏

A CALL FOR INCLUSIVE TUMAINI INITIATIVE

The exclusion of the non-armed opposition parties which are not signatories to 2018 peace accord is an indication that the government of South Sudan encourages and values the rebellious groups.

The People's Progressive Party acknowledges the patriotic call made by Pagan Amum Okiec of SSOMA today for the mediators to reconsider inclusive roundtable peace talks which includes the non-signatories political parties to R-ARCSS.

On behalf of the People's Progressive Party, we therefore urge the peace mediators to consider the non-signatories political parties to be included in the Tumaini Initiative as it brings a unified voice to ending the protracted political and security deadlock in South Sudan.
Be rest assured that we shall balance the equation between the Extended R-TGoNU and the holdout group.
