📢 URGENT HUMANITARIAN CASE
Diyaad IDP Camp, Baidoa – Somalia

Prepared by TARDO – Takulo Relief & Development Organization

TARDO (Takulo Relief & Development Organization) presents this urgent humanitarian case requiring immediate intervention and support.

A mother, Idoy Ali Moalim, has recently been displaced due to insecurity from Hudey village in Dinsor District to Baidoa. She is currently living in extremely difficult conditions at Diyaad IDP Camp.

Somali Youth and Climate Change: Driving Resilience for the Future

Somalia is a country where over 75% of the population is youth, making young people the driving force of today and the hope for tomorrow. In the face of climate change, one of the greatest challenges of our time, the role of Somali youth is more important than ever.

Climate Challenges in Somalia

The country remains highly vulnerable to droughts, floods, desertification, and displacement, all intensified by climate change. These shocks erode livelihoods, deepen poverty, and limit access to basic services. Addressing them requires forward-looking solutions that combine scientific innovation and community-driven action.

The Role of Youth in Climate Action

• Innovators and Problem-Solvers:

Young people bring fresh perspectives, technology, and creative approaches to climate solutions.

• Community Mobilizers: Through education, awareness campaigns, and advocacy, youth can influence attitudes and behaviors at the grassroots level.

• Champions of Resilience:
By promoting climate-smart agriculture, renewable energy, water conservation, and disaster preparedness, youth strengthen community resilience.
• Voices for Policy and Change:
Youth participation in
national and international climate dialogues ensures policies reflect inclusive, long-term perspectives.

Building a Resilient Future

Empowering Somali youth with climate education, green skills, and leadership opportunities is critical to building a climate-resilient nation. By investing in youth-driven innovation and entrepreneurship, Somalia can mitigate risks, create jobs, strengthen food security, and support sustainable development.

📌 Investing in Somali youth is investing in climate resilience, sustainable development, and the nation’s future.
