The Crisis of Leadership in Puntland: The Failure of the Deni Administration
Puntland is currently suffering under the failed leadership of President Said Abdullahi Deni, whose tenure has been defined by systemic corruption and a total lack of vision for our people. The contradictions of his administration are as blatant as they are damaging:
1. The Mogadishu Ambition
While Deni publicly presents himself as a champion of Puntland's autonomy, his true focus lies elsewhere. He has systematically drained Puntland’s internal revenue and resources, not to develop our region, but to fund his personal campaign to become the President of Somalia. He is essentially using Puntland as a "cash cow" to buy his way into power in Mogadishu, sacrificing our local stability for his federal aspirations.
2. Disrespecting the Pillars of Society
In a bizarre shift of priorities, the Deni administration has replaced traditional respect with a thirst for social media clout. While TikTokers from Mogadishu are given "VIP" treatment—whisked from the airport to Villa Puntland in minutes—the true backbone of our society is ignored. Our most respected intellectuals and traditional elders are forced to wait months for a simple meeting that never comes.
3. A Failed Policy
It has become clear that the greatest obstacle to Puntland’s progress is not an external threat, but the internal policies of the Deni administration. To secure a future for the next generation, Puntland must be liberated from a leadership that prioritizes personal political climbing and optics over the welfare and dignity of its citizens.Amiir Cabdi FataaxMohamed SalhDr. Guled SalahPuntland State HousePuntland ParliamentCiidanka Booliska Puntland
