SenegalStyle African Drum School came from our original African drum business, SenegalStyle DJEMBES! After people bought and saw the professional drums we make they started asking quest

ion about us, what we do and also about taking classes. After the worldwide economic collapse musicians, as well as everyone else took a hit - so did we here at SenegalStyle DJEMBES! We were forced to scale back our manufacturing and decided to focus on hospitality & tourism, adding the African drumming classes as well as Arabic, French & Wolof language school to attract more students. It was a great idea and SenegalStyle Africa Drum School was born! I am American and came to Senegal in 1999 with my three American children. They are all grown now but I am still a parent. My commitment TO YOU as a parent is to make SURE that your children, no matter how old, are housed in a safe and comfortable bug free room, that their food is good and nutritious and their environment and surroundings are drug & alcohol free and secure. It's the same as I would want for my children and I will treat yours just as I would my own! The cost is $1250 a month and that includes breakfast before going to class and dinner after coming back home. It does not include transportation to and from African drum classes or lunch, which they can take there. Many students, (mostly women), after learning the way to the community center, simply walk to drumming and back as the route is easy and the location is perfectly safe. Senegal is not Chicago or Compton... there are no gangs, drive byes, muggings, serial killers, child snatchers, murders, rapes, and all the other associated crimes that go along with modern American society and the drug culture. We are the 2nd lowest for murder IN THE WORLD behind Iceland so don't worry, your child/young adult will be FINE! Booking is in advance and yes, we take payments (3 months, non refundable). Email me at [email protected] to find out what you need to bring and our next availability.

SenegalStyle FOODIE TOURS! I have to say... this Asian guy NAILED IT! Some of his food choices wouldn't be our choices, Asians eat everything! haha! BUT some of the places he goes, I also take people on our tours. I'm glad he highlighted these places and the food, especially the seafood. Whenever you see/hear someone say 'Senegal is poor and the people are starving' - know in you mind that they are lying and have never been here or are just jealous.

I've been here 25 years... how you gonna 'starve' in a country on the Atlantic and a city surrounded on 3 sides by water and every 3rd person is connected to the fishing industry in some way? That's not even logical, ignore them.

Enjoy the video!

JOB ALERT! We need the children of Hoteps to join gov't agencies and then report back to the community. Should have been doing this 50 years ago but didn't. Instead we get self hating black folks in these jobs sticking it to us!

Joining the Secret Service as a Special Agent will allow you to perform critical protective and investigative assignments. The Special Agent position starts at a base salary of $47,562.00 (GL-07, step 1), with promotion potential to $115,079.00 (GS-13, step 10). This position is covered....

I know I blew up your feed posting pictures of my eldest son Raphael and my apologies for that. But I want to say something to all the parents who THINK they have pictures of their kids because it's on their phones...

No You Do Not!

Until you have PHYSICAL PHOTOS you can lose those images as soon as someone steals your phone. The only reason I have these pictures is because I was using a camera with film back in the day. I had a nice professional one. THEN digital cameras came out and I got seduced by the promise of up to 5,000 pictures being stored on a memory card.

I switched.

Then I took dozens of pictures a week of the children growing up, rarely getting any developed because 'one day' I'll do them all at one time.... that's the lie I told myself. I never did it and then 'one day' did come and guess what?

I got my camera stolen and just like that I lost a lifetime of photos of my life in Florida, my children growing into teens and my experiences here in Senegal. GONE.

Fortunately for me, I set up a picture host site on Fotki and I posted a ton of pictures from my camera before it was stolen... but they were mostly business, customer and product photos.

I DIDN'T EVEN TAKE THE TIME TO POST MY CHILDREN... Because I had compartmentalized those photos in my brain to becoming physical pictures on day and they would be in an album.

Here's a link so you can see what I'm talking about. Don't do what I did and wait until later, DO IT NOW and just order from Fotki online. They're had my pictures since the year 2000 and THANK GOD for that or for real for real, I'd have nothing.

This was on my memories... I still sell the small talking drums, the percussion sounds that you could hear from the Black Panther 'Wakanda' movie.

Great photo right? That's a talking drum or Tama as they are called in Senegal. The necklace is for the photo here but they put similar ones on new borns and infants to make the baby's neck stronger and keep them from flopping around as they carry them on their backs. The neck ones are smaller and tighter against their necks but not tight enough to choke them.

It's also to stop teething pain. My grandson had a piece of string and most toddlers do. Outsiders would think: omg that's a choking hazard, but they don't choke. If you see an African baby with a string around the neck it's been blessed by a religious person and it legit diminishes or stops teething pain.

It's amazing but I've seen it with my own eyes here in Senegal.

'We had to go to a farm to collect foodstuffs for him because he got sick after just a few days eating American food.'

This is me back in the US. I can't eat the food there. Someone asked me if this is true, it's true. The guy wasn't talking about me but it applies. I had Lupus in the US and it went away when I moved here to Senegal.

Lupus is environmental but 'they' will never admit it because you can't make money off the cure. (leaving the area)
