Du Bois, Jomo Kenyatta, Patrice Lumumba, Frantz Fanon, Sekou Toure, Haile Selassie, Nnamdi Azikiwe, Julius Nyerere,Thomas Sankara, Ellen Johnson Sirleaf, Thabo Mbeki, Robert Mugabe, Nelson Mandela, Kwame Nkrumah, and Chinua Achebe. These thinkers have emphasized the need for African societies to reclaim their cultural identities, promote social justice, and strive for political independence and sovereignty.
