Beware of phishing emails regarding fake CPF contribution refunds

We have been alerted to a phishing email with the subject line: "CPF Contribution Overpayment – Refund Notification". The email claims that the member is eligible for refund of excess CPF contributions and directs the member to confirm the refund details via a link.

To appear legitimate, scammers have spoofed the Sender ID to display as "CPF Board" and included the official CPF logo within the email. These emails are NOT from the CPF Board. CPF Board will only contact you via emails ending with .gov.sg or .cpf.gov.sg.

Follow these steps to stay safe:
• DO NOT click on any links or download any attachments in the email.
• DO NOT provide any personal, banking, or Singpass details.
• DELETE the email immediately.

Official CPF Channels:
• Calls: Only from 6227 1188. We never call via WhatsApp.
• SMS: Only from the “gov.sg” sender ID.
• WhatsApp: Only from “CPF Board Text Us” or “CPF Board” with the blue verified tick.
• Emails: Official addresses end with .gov.sg or .cpf.gov.sg.

If unsure, STOP and CHECK. Call the 24/7 ScamShield helpline at 1799 or contact us at cpf.gov.sg/service/contact-us.
