Check out the highlights from our recent co-hosting of the 19th Asia Hyperbaric and Diving Medical Association (AHDMA) Annual Scientific Meeting 2026, alongside AHDMA and Singapore General Hospital!

The event brought together regional and international experts, fostering vital cross-learning and collaboration between civilian and military specialists in diving and hyperbaric medicine research.

This opportunity highlights the RSN's unique role in leading and facilitating critical conversations across both sectors within this niche field.

As military medicine evolves, platforms like these allow our personnel to share insights on strengthening professional standards, enhancing safety, and advancing patient care.

Our trainees from the 108th Midshipmen Course (MIDS) and 38th Military Domain Experts Course (MDEC) 1 have successfully completed their Midshipman Sea Training Deployment (MSTD)!

From 26 July to 26 August, our trainees were on board the Endurance-class Landing Ship Tank RSS Persistence, where they were put through their paces with a series of tests and challenges at sea. Through both theory and practical lessons, they put their training into practice, tested their grit and resilience, and gained valuable experience at sea.

We are proud of our Officers-to-be and look forward to seeing them continue to grow in the next phase of their training journey!

BZ, 108th MIDS and 38th MDEC 1!

Earlier today, Permanent Secretary (Defence) Mr Joseph Leong officiated the Keel Laying Ceremony for our third Multi-Role Combat Vessel (MRCV) at ST Engineering. The ceremony was also attended by Chief of Navy Rear Admiral (RADM) Sean Wat and senior officials and representatives from the RSN, DSTA Defence Science and Technology Agency and ST Engineering Marine.

The keel laying ceremony is a time-honoured tradition in shipbuilding, commemorating the ‘birth’ of a new ship cradled in its shipyard.

The RSN’s MRCVs will progressively replace our Victory-class Missile Corvettes (MCVs), which have been in service since 1989. The MRCVs are expected to be delivered from 2028 onwards.
