I’ve had the honour and the privilege to attend the 2nd National Taekwondo Championships in the Philippines with Kombat Taekwondo President Grandmaster Rick Shin on the 22nd and 23rd of June 2024.
This prestigious event marked the inaugural Kombat Taekwondo Minor & Major League Tournaments in Asia, and brought together fighters from the region to pit their skills and test their mettle against one another. This was an excellent opportunity for us to meet and catch up with fellow Taekwondo exponents from the region, as well as to exchange ideas on future collaboration.
Thank you Master Danrey Velo for putting together a well thought out, and well planned event. And it was a pleasure meeting Master Eliyas Kumel, President of Kombat Taekwondo Ethiopia.
Further to that, this event provided the platform for further discussions on future cooperative and cohesiveness within the Asia Pacific region amongst like-minded martial art exponents. I personally am looking forward to working with GM Rick to bring his vision to fruition here in Asia Pacific, with the support of our counterparts in the region.
To our Singapore fighters. Thank you both for the courage and selflessness that you have exhibited; and I do believe that with your determination, indomitable spirits and passion, you will go the distance! I am looking forward to training our next generation of young fighters in the region; we will definitely put Asia Pacific on the KT map! 💪🏼
