We are thrilled to announce the successful completion of our first course in FY2026 — the Intermediate English Language and Communication Skills course! 🎉 In today's globalised world, English has become an essential language that connects people across borders and cultures. Being able to communicate effectively in English opens doors to greater opportunities and enables us to engage more confidently in both our professional and personal lives.

A big congratulations to all our participants who put in the time and effort to sharpen their English communication skills. Their dedication and enthusiasm throughout the course made it a truly rewarding experience for everyone involved. A heartfelt thank you to our facilitators for their guidance and commitment in delivering an engaging and impactful learning journey.

From 15–17 June 2026, the Consulate-General of Singapore in Ho Chi Minh City was pleased to host 31 officers from Singapore’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs as part of their Administrative Specialist Basic Programme (ASBP) overseas field trip. During their visit, the delegation engaged with the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Foreign Affairs and the Royal Thai Consulate-General, and attended a reception with members of the consular corps, gaining valuable insights into diplomacy and regional cooperation.

The officers also visited the Vietnam-Singapore Industrial Park (VSIP), LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam, and FV Hospital, gaining a deeper appreciation of Vietnam’s economic development and healthcare sector. We were delighted to host this enthusiastic group and hope their time in Vietnam was both enriching and memorable.

Từ ngày 15–17/6/2026, Tổng Lãnh sự quán Singapore tại Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh vinh dự đón tiếp 27 cán bộ của Bộ Ngoại giao Singapore tham gia chuyến công tác thực tế ở nước ngoài trong khuôn khổ Chương trình Đào tạo Chuyên viên Hành chính Cơ bản (Administrative Specialist Basic Programme – ASBP). Trong thời gian ở Việt Nam, đoàn đã có các buổi làm việc với Sở Ngoại vụ Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh và Tổng Lãnh sự quán Vương quốc Thái Lan, đồng thời tham dự tiệc chiêu đãi cùng các thành viên Đoàn Lãnh sự, qua đó có thêm những góc nhìn và hiểu biết quý báu về công tác ngoại giao và hợp tác khu vực.
Đoàn cũng đã đến thăm Khu Công nghiệp Việt Nam – Singapore (VSIP), Nhà máy LEGO Manufacturing Vietnam và Bệnh viện FV, từ đó hiểu rõ hơn về sự phát triển kinh tế cũng như lĩnh vực y tế của Việt Nam. Chúng tôi rất vui mừng được chào đón nhóm cán bộ đầy nhiệt huyết này và hy vọng khoảng thời gian của họ tại Việt Nam sẽ là một trải nghiệm bổ ích và đáng nhớ.

What an amazing session! We're delighted to celebrate the successful completion of the AI for Professionals workshop, organised by Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (LKYSPP) alumni for the NUS and LKYSPP alumni in Vietnam! 🎉

Held at the Vietnam-Singapore Cooperation Centre last weekend, this was a wonderful ground-up initiative — a testament to the passion of our alumni community to learn, share expertise and build connections. It was heartening to see fellow alumni come together and explore the exciting possibilities that AI brings to the professional world.

A big thank you to Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy for their support in making this happen. And of course, a huge shoutout to the organiser for taking the initiative to bring this community together — this is exactly the kind of spirit that makes our alumni network so special. The Embassy looks forward to supporting more ground-up initiatives like this one.

It is that time of the month! It was wonderful to host students from National University of Singapore, Hwa Chong Institution, Dunman High School, River Valley High School, Singapore (Official), Pei Chun Public School, Xinmin Secondary School - Leading Hearts, Leading Minds at the Vietnam-Singapore Cooperation Centre in Hanoi. The Singapore Embassy was delighted to give them a glimpse into the work we do and what it means to represent Singapore abroad. The students had the opportunity to learn about Singapore-Vietnam relations, the role of the Embassy, the Singapore Cooperation Programme, and the exciting collaborations happening between both nations.

We hope the visit sparked curiosity, broadened their horizons, and perhaps even inspired a few to join MFA in the future! We look forward to welcoming more students and continuing to nurture the next generation of global-minded Singaporeans.🌏

Hosted General Secretary and President To Lam to dinner this evening.

President Lam is here on a State Visit. He delivered the keynote speech at the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue yesterday, where he outlined Vietnam’s foreign policy perspectives as an emerging regional power.

President Lam and I had a good exchange on the longstanding and positive relationship between Singapore and Vietnam. We also spoke candidly about current regional and global issues.

I hope that President Lam’s visit was a pleasant and productive one, and wish him and Vietnam all the very best. – LHL

Planted a Hopea recopei tree with General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, at the Singapore Botanic Gardens today.

Native to Vietnam and Southeast Asia, this sturdy tree is a fitting symbol of the close ties between our two countries. Like the tree, the Singapore–Vietnam friendship is deeply rooted and will continue to flourish and grow stronger with time!

Welcomed General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) and President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, To Lam, back to Singapore today. This is his second visit in two years, reflecting the growing friendship between our nations.

Our discussions focused on strengthening cooperation and translating our agreements into concrete outcomes. Both sides will deepen collaboration in areas like agri-trade, renewable energy, science and technology, and human capital development. These are practical areas where Singapore and Vietnam can do more together in an increasingly complex world.

Both our countries depend on open trade and a rules-based international order, and share a common interest in a strong and united ASEAN. We will make full use of our respective ASEAN and APEC Chairmanships next year to advance regional cooperation and integration.

Singapore and Vietnam have built a strong and trusted partnership. I am confident we can create even more opportunities for our peoples in the years ahead. 🇸🇬🇻🇳
