When a fire breaks out in a high-rise building, firefighters don't drag heavy water hoses up dozens of flights of stairs. Instead, they rely on Risers!
🏢 Dry Riser (Buildings under 60m / ~18 stories):
• An empty pipe system running through the building.
• Firefighters connect their hose to a fire engine at the ground level (breeching inlet) to pump water up to the affected floor.
