Assalamualaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh,

On behalf of Agents of Change (AOC), we would like to express our deepest gratitude to everyone who came to pay their final respects and accompany our beloved brother, Muhammad Shaim, on his final journey.

Our heartfelt thanks to the representatives from Masjid Kassim, fellow support groups, friends, family members, volunteers, and everyone who took the time to be present. Whether you came as an organisation, a group, or an individual, your presence, prayers, and support meant a great deal to us and to Brother Shaim's loved ones.

A special note of appreciation to Shaim's employer, Kingsmen, for their generous support and condolence contribution to his family. We would also like to thank his fellow colleagues and brothers from the safety community for their contributions, assistance, and overwhelming show of care and solidarity. Your kindness and generosity during this difficult time have been deeply appreciated by his family and all of us at AOC.

Over the past two days, we have witnessed an outpouring of love, compassion, and brotherhood that words can hardly describe. The countless messages, prayers, visits, contributions, and acts of kindness shown towards Brother Shaim and his family are a reflection of the lives he touched and the relationships he built throughout his journey.

He was loved by many, respected by many, and his presence will be dearly missed. While he may no longer be with us, the memories, laughter, friendship, and kindness he shared will remain in our hearts forever.

Thank you for showing Brother Shaim and his family that he was valued, cared for, and never alone. May Allah SWT reward each and every one of you for your kindness, accept your good deeds, and grant our beloved brother His mercy, forgiveness, and the highest place in Jannah.

Please continue to keep Brother Shaim and his family in your prayers.

Rest easy, Bro Shaim.

Thank you for the memories, the laughter, and the friendship. Your journey was not always easy, but you never stopped trying, and that is something we will always remember.

You may be gone from our sight, but never from our hearts. The AOC familia will carry your memory with us wherever we go.

May Allah forgive your shortcomings, accept your good deeds, and grant you Jannah.

Almarhum Muhammad Shaim merupakan seorang noja di Masjid Kassim yang telah berkhidmat hampir setahun semenjak Jun 2024 sehingga Julai 2025. Semoga Allah mengampuni dan merahmatinya, menempatkan beliau dengan para syuhada dan solihin dan memasukkannya ke dalam syurga. Amiin, Allahumma Amiin. Al-Fatihah.

Kassim Mosque is saddened to learn of the passing of Almarhum Muhanmad Shaim Bin Osman this morning, Saturday 30 May 2027. Almarhum Muhammad Shaim was a committed Noja at Masjid Kassim since his service from June 2024 until July 2025. The MMB and staff of Masjid Kassim convey our sympathy and heartfelt condolences to his family. May Allah s.w.t. bless him, accept all his ibadah and good deeds and attain the highest Jannah. Once lost in the streets, now standing in front of others sharing hope, lessons and recovery through his lived experience. Alhamdulillah.

Talk Show @ RTC: Sacrifice — My Prayer, My Life, My Worship Are Only for Allah

FITRAH Incare recently conducted another Motivational Talk Show at RTC, centred on the theme of sacrifice — reflecting on how true change requires commitment, discipline, and sincere effort for the sake of Allah.

The session aimed to deepen inmates’ understanding of Islamic values and how these values can be applied through practical steps towards rehabilitation. Through experience sharing by desistor Bro Mohd from Agents of Change (AOC), alongside reflections by Ustaz Hakeem, inmates were encouraged to reflect on the sacrifices needed to leave behind harmful influences, old habits, and destructive behaviours.

Drawing from both faith and lived experiences, the talk highlighted that growth and transformation are often accompanied by challenges, discipline, and perseverance. Inmates were reminded that sacrifice is not a burden, but a necessary step towards spiritual growth, self-discipline, and rebuilding one’s life.

The session also served as a platform to share the support available through FITRAH’s community network, including befriending and post-release support. 🤍

Another escape to JB with the AOC familia 😁

Our little routine — relaxing massage (self-care is important okay 😌), makan makan, and of course… durian is a must. But honestly, the best part is always the bonding time. There’s never a shortage of things to catch up on, laughter to share, and moments to appreciate together.

And congratulations to Bro Ashyik 😂👏🏼
First time driving to & fro JB and Alhamdulillah… mission successful hahaha. From passenger prince to full driver mode already 😎🚗💨

We ended the day with Maghrib & Isyak at Masjid Al Asma'ul Husna. The masjid was beautifully designed, and true to its name, the Asma’ul Husna could be seen across the ceiling of the masjid. The decor and atmosphere even reminded us of Raudhah — peaceful, calming, and comforting to the heart.

Alhamdulillah for moments like these. Sometimes recovery also looks like this — laughter, friendship, healing, self-care, and being surrounded by people who are genuinely striving for change and growth. 🌱💪🏼

22 May 26 | Friday Check-In

Recovery goes beyond just being clean from substances. It is never just about “me.” It is much more than that.

It is about healing relationships with our loved ones, rebuilding broken trust, learning to manage emotions, facing situations differently, and changing the way we think and live.

It is also about learning to treasure our loved ones and appreciating the sacrifices they made while standing by us even during our darkest moments.

Recovery is about becoming a better version of ourselves little by little — even when nobody sees the silent battles behind it.

Because true recovery is not just staying away from substances… it is rebuilding a life worth staying clean for.

Madrasah Wak Tanjong

Alhamdulillah ‘ala kulli hal ... this morning our co-founder Izwan and core member Ashyik were invited to Madrasah Wak Tanjong to share about their lived experiences.

The topic revolved around drug abuse, va**ng, gangsterism and the reality of life behind bars and the price they had to pay for the choices they once made.

During the Q&A session, two students asked these questions:

1) How do you help a family member that’s currently addicted?
2) If you know drugs are haram, why do you still take them? 😮‍💨

But Alhamdulillah, both Bro Izwan and Ashyik answered calmly, wisely and from an Islamic perspective. No ego. No glorifying the past. Just honesty, accountabillity and lived experience.

Sometimes the hardest questions are the ones that open the deepest conversations. And perhaps that is the importance of these sharings — not to seek sympathy, but to educate, create awareness and prevent others from walking down the same road.

Alhamdulillah… the same roads that once destroyed them are now the very roads they use to guide others away from destruction.

May Allah ﷻ protect our youth, grant them wisdom in choosing their path and keep them away from harm. Allahumma Aamiin. 🤲🏼

Yesterday our brothers went for a Surron ride dirtbike outing 🏍️💨

More than just fun and adrenaline, this outing was also about wellness, brotherhood, healthy connection, and rebuilding life in recovery.

This ride came as a challenge to some of our brothers — falling, getting back up, and continuing the journey despite the struggles. And honestly, it reflects recovery itself.

Recovery is not about never falling.
It’s about refusing to stay down.

There will be bumps, fear, setbacks, and moments where you lose balance. But every time you rise again and keep moving forward, that itself is progress. 🤍

Alhamdulillah for moments like these — where healing, growth, and brotherhood come together on the same journey.

Thank you to Rise Above for the opportunity to introduce our support group and share the work that AOC (Agents of Change) does in supporting individuals and families affected by addiction, incarceration, and life’s many struggles.

Our co-founder, Bro Sufian, shared the vision and mission of AOC and the support we provide to those on their journey of recovery and reintegration.

Core member, Bro Sani, then courageously shared his lived experience and how his recovery journey has been shaped through the guidance, mentorship, and unwavering support of Bro Sufian and the AOC family.

His story of honesty, perseverance, and transformation was a powerful reminder that no matter how difficult the past may be, change is possible when we are given hope, support, and a community that believes in us.

We are deeply grateful to Rise Above for creating a safe and supportive space where experiences, strengths, and hope can be shared. 🤝✨
