We started with a problem: long pharmacy wait times.

But after spending time with patients and pharmacists at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), we realised the length of the wait was only part of what made the experience frustrating. Patients also didn’t know how much longer they would be waiting, or what was happening behind the counter.

That led to Peek, a web app that makes pharmacy waits more predictable and transparent. It went live during this year’s Hack for Public Good and has since expanded to more pharmacy locations.

During Hack for Public Good 2026, one of our teams spent time with patients and pharmacy staff at Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH) and found that long waits were only part of the problem. The uncertainty was what made the experience frustrating.

That insight led to Peek, an award-winning web app designed to make pharmacy waits more predictable and transparent. In just three weeks, the team went from exploring the problem to having real patients use it.

When it comes to public information, a translation needs to fit our context, not just be technically correct.

Polyglot lets citizens read government websites in English, Malay, Mandarin or Tamil with the toggle of a button, all on the same page. It started out at our annual Hack for Public Good, and we’re now testing it with MDDI’s Translations Department and Citizen Translators to see how well it works in practice.

With four official languages in Singapore, Polyglot is one way we’re exploring how government information can be easier to understand in the language you’re most comfortable with. 🌏

Last week, five social service agencies brought real challenges from their day-to-day work to our latest Build for Good (BFG) session, from helping patients make difficult care decisions to reducing administrative burden and supporting greater independence for adults with intellectual disabilities.

With support from our BFG Stewards, hackitrxsg2026, the agencies shaped these challenges into problem statements for builders to tackle at the hackathon.

The final hackathon of the series opens on 30 August. If you build things and want to put your skills towards a real public-good problem, this one’s for you. 🛠️

Finding the right care for a loved one can mean going through multiple providers, forms and follow-ups, all while trying to find a service with the right support, location and availability.

Together with AIC Singapore, we set out to make that process easier. Bright brings hospitals, AIC and care providers onto the same referral in one place, with simpler forms and verified information pulled from government and hospital systems.

So less time is spent entering the same details or following up across separate channels, and families can be connected to home-based, centre-based or residential care sooner.

At Singapore General Hospital (SGH), a ground-up initiative led by Ms Mun and Mr Gary is transforming how healthcare teams work using OGP’s tools. 👋🏥

What began as a mission to streamline daily workplace inefficiencies has since grown into a 50+ strong monthly interest group with a shared interest in scaling these solutions across SGH. Digitalising repetitive tasks frees up time so healthcare workers can focus on what truly matters such as dedicated patient care.
