🇺🇦 Ukrainian air defense forces engaged a 🇷🇺 Russian Geran-2 (Shahed-type) loitering munition in the suburbs of Dnipro.
The footage captures the high-stakes struggle to achieve a lock. Because the Geran-2 uses a small, low-heat engine, MANPADS seekers like the Igla or the 🇵🇱 Polish-made Piorun require precise calibration and a few tense seconds ⏱️ for the thermal battery to activate.
Despite the initial difficulty securing a lock-on tone, the operators managed to get a missile off. While the launch was successful, it remains unconfirmed if the drone was actually neutralized.
