Plastic Free September

Plastic Free September Plastic Free September is an initiative by the Grund/Steere family. The idea is simple & aims to raise awareness of the amount of plastic in our world.

Our family has decided we have had enough of the amount of plastic we're using. It's everywhere! (parks, oceans, rubbish dumps) And when you see the official stats on how much goes to waste (over 30 million tons each year in the USA alone) it made us want to do something about it. Our half-Swedish, half-New Zealand family wants to keep our planet healthy, happy and safe for all living creatures. T

his is the main reason behind our determination to live 'one-time use plastic'-free this September. The idea is simple & our cause aims to raise awareness of the amount of plastic in our everyday life. Can you cut one-time use plastic from your house for a month? We'd be happy if you'd like to join us and give it a try!

Funny, but very sad at the same time. And very very true as the average time it takes a plastic bottle to completely degrade is at least 450 years.

Want to make a difference in this world? You can easily start today by cutting down on your use of one-time use plastics. Join us this September and try to live completely (on-time use) plastic free! It's super hard but we're sure you can do it, at least half your usage.

Here's the truth about bottled water - don't buy into it! Aussie tap water is some of the safest in the world. Bottled water hits not only your pocket but also our environment. It takes nearly 3L of water and 250ml of oil to produce just ONE litre of bottled water! Share and let your friends know, when it comes to bottled water - it's just not worth it.

Dangerous/toxic chemicals in every 2nd item in our homes 😡😖 Mostly in plastic utensils and other items containing plastics... Seriously, how can it be approved by our governments? Aren't they here to set the policies, rules and guidelines for us all to live in a safe and healthy environment? (Btw, The article is in Swedish for you who don't speak/read the language get in touch and we'll help you translate- or turn to Google Translate). http://www.svd.se/farliga-kemikalier-i-varannan-plastvara

Apart from killing the planet, the worst thing about putting spinach leaves in plastic bags is that they go all yucky and slimy. I put my spinach from the grocer straight into my Biome Eco Stores bag and then into a container at home for fresh spinach! 🌱
