2 years ago while attending the JASIRI Entrepreneurship Programin Rwanda, our founders Loza Admassu and Helen Gizachew experienced firsthand how critical response times can be. They looked at Kigali’s traffic and realized the answer was already on the streets: when people need to move fast, they use motorcycles.

That insight birthed Ambucycle, deploying certified nurses on motorcycles with full emergency equipment straight to patients in need. 🏍️🩺

What we achieved in our national pilot with the Ministry of Health | Rwanda :

⏱️ 13-minute average response time
🩺 73 patients treated on-scene
👶🏽 2 babies delivered safely

Now, we are expanding to new cities, equipping workplaces with First Aid kits, and providing community response training.

Nurse Munezero Diedonné shares a story about a pregnant woman who was very sick and needed help urgently.

The Ambucycle team was able to reach her first, provide care, and stay with her until the ambulance arrived and took her to the hospital.

In places where traffic and narrow roads can slow an ambulance down, a motorcycle can make those few extra minutes count.
