On 29 January, founders in the Hanga Hubs Incubation Program came together at the Musanze Innovation Hub for Workshop 5, a focused day dedicated to preparation and refinement ahead of Demo Day.

The session included one-on-one expert support in product development (hardware, software, and communications), pitch deck refinement, and pitch practice. These working sessions gave founders space to clarify their value propositions, strengthen their narratives, and sharpen their readiness for presentation.

The day marked a key transition from building to showcasing, turning months of learning into clear, confident stories ready for the next stage.

Kwizera Danny, a Hanga Hubs Nyagatare alumnus and founder of DK Services Company LTD, reflects on his journey at the Hub.

His startup is a Rwandan innovation manufacturing hydropower welding machines powered by water, salt, and electricity. What began as big ideas without a clear path evolved into practical innovation. With access to tools, mentorship, and workspace at Hanga Hubs Nyagatare, Danny went on to build and launch his own company focused on eco-friendly welding solutions.

As a new year begins, it’s the perfect moment to reflect on the ideas, journeys, and achievements that shaped the year behind us.

Tubanambazi Jean D’Amour’s journey is a testament to seeing possibility where others see obstacles.

In 2020, he founded Mushroom Farm LTD, an agribusiness specializing in mushroom farming, organic compost (DPC), and smart production monitoring. Through DMMS, the startup uses data-driven tools to track growing conditions and ensure consistent high-quality production that meets market demands.

From the early stages of his idea to where he stands today, Jean D’Amour’s story reflects what can happen when problem-solving meets the right support system. His experience at Hanga Hubs highlights the power of innovation driven by purpose and resilience.

On 18–19 December, founders in the Hanga Hubs Incubation Program participated in a two-day workshop at the Huye Innovation Hub, focused on strengthening financial clarity, growth strategy, and team effectiveness.

Day one built on earlier learning, beginning with a review of financial models to assess assumptions, cost structures, and revenue logic. Founders then worked through go-to-market and growth planning, clarifying how their products reach users and scale sustainably.

Day two focused on people and productivity, examining how early-stage teams can organise their work, manage time, and build effective internal systems. This was followed by sessions on financial analysis and valuation, equipping startups with tools to better understand business performance and long-term value.

Across both days, one-on-one mentorship sessions allowed each startup to address specific challenges and translate insights into practical next steps. The workshop marked another important step in moving ideas toward structured, sustainable ventures.

On 11–12 December, founders in the Hanga Hubs Incubation Program at the Musanze Innovation Hub came together for an intensive two-day workshop focused on what truly drives sustainable growth.

Over the two days, startups engaged in:

Financial Modeling Workshops — breaking down unit economics, forecasting, and financial decision-making for early-stage ventures

Go-To-Market Roadmap & Growth Planning — defining customer segments, market entry strategies, and scalable growth paths

People & Productivity — exploring how to build effective teams, manage time, and improve operational efficiency

One-on-One Mentorship Sessions — tailored guidance to refine business models, address challenges, and align next steps

With hands-on learning and personalized support, founders are sharpening their strategies and preparing their ventures for the next stage of growth.

The journey continues and the work is getting real.
