We are grateful to “Fish in the News” for highlighting The Killifish Collections Project and helping to share our mission more broadly.
The Killifish Collections Project website is a beautifully produced collaborative archive dedicated to collecting, validating, and sharing data on global killifish collections, helping preserve pure populations of killifishes in the hobby and academia, sustaining knowledge across generations for hobbyists, researchers and conservationists.
Check out the project website here - https://killifishcollections.net/
Currently documenting 231 killifish expeditions across 48 countries, by 24 collectors, with full species lists and collection codes. A worthy and fascinating project to follow!

With a mission to make available information related to killifish collections to all, the project's objectives are to gather information concerning killifish collections in the wild; gather information about collectors/explorers; keep the information up-to-date, adding new expedition data as soon as available; encourage the creation, maintenance, and dissemination of collection codes; encourage checking the correctness of collection codes; contribute to the maintenance of pure populations.
