The then-governor Luis Muñoz Marín, seeing growth in the Puerto Rican Independence Party, led by Gilberto Concepción de Gracia, decided to baptize Law 600 with the imaginative name of "Free Associated State." It was a perfect label to sell to a population with a mediocre and very deficient Department of Education....

En el 2028 se cumplen 75 años de la vigencia de la Ley 600, promovida por el PDD, que nos otorgó el derecho, por virtud del Congreso de los Estados Unidos, para redactar una constitución territorial. El entonces gobernador Luis Muñoz Marín, viendo un crecimiento en el Partido Independentista Puertorriqueño, liderado por Gilberto Concepción de Gracia, decidió bautizar la Ley 600 con el imaginario nombre de “Estado Libre Asociado”....
