Hello everyone! My name is Cat Swindal and I am one of six students traveling to Krakow, Poland for MAGIS 2016 and World Youth Day! I am a member of the Fordham University class of 2019, and I am currently majoring in sociology. I am a member of the Fordham University Women’s Choir and the Fordham University Gloria Dei Choirr, and I also serve as a copy editor for The Fordham Ram.

Crazily enough, my team is leaving in less than 24 hours for Poland! We have worked hard over the past few months to make this trip a reality, and we could not have done it without the support and prayers from our family and friends. I believe I speak for all of us when I say how grateful we are for each person who helped our team along the way. I am so excited to delve into new experiences and meet new people from around the world, and through this discover more ways to become closer to God. Our team is truly prepared. Over the past few months, we have planned, fundraised, studied Polish history and culture, and even had our very own pilgrimage in New York City. Due to the friendships I’ve created and experiences I’ve had with my team, my spirituality has gotten stronger. I hope that this trip will further strengthen my relationship with God. As we head to Poland tomorrow, please keep us in your thoughts and prayers, and we will share all of our experiences with you when we return in two and a half weeks!

Greetings! My name is John Byrne, and I am one of six students attending Magis/World Youth Day in Poland with Fordham Campus Ministry! I am from Long Island, NY, and am a member of FCRH ’18. I am a History major and an American Catholic Studies concentrator; on campus, I am a member of the Fordham Debate Society and an altar server.

I am extremely excited to be going to Poland this July! I have been looking forwards to attending World Youth Day ever since I heard the good experiences of some of my high school friends who attended WYD Rio in 2013. I am very happy to now have the opportunity to do so at Fordham, and especially to have the unique experience of seeing our Jesuit pope while at a Jesuit University! What I am perhaps the most excited for, however, is the chance to take part in the MAGIS 2016 program, a gathering of worldwide Jesuit students before WYD which will help us to learn more about Poland and Ignatian Spirituality through a number of “experiments” throughout Poland. Overall, I am eagerly looking forward to the chance to meet young people from around the world, experience new things, and further develop my faith. Thanks to everyone who entered our fundraising raffle or donated money and made this trip possible! Please pray for all of us; we will certainly be praying for you.

Hi friends! My name is Lindsey Faust, and I am one of the six students who will be traveling to Worth Youth Day in Krakow this July! I am a proud member of Fordham College Rose Hill class of 2018; I am a communications major, Spanish minor, and American Catholic Studies concentrator. On campus, I am a campus ministry retreat leader and a Rose Hill Society tour guide.

I have been waiting to go to World Youth Day in Krakow for years; while I was unable to go to Rio, I knew even in 2013 that the WYD experience was one I wanted to have. How perfect it is, then, that I get to go with a Jesuit university during the papacy of our very first Jesuit pope! I am beyond excited for the experience of worldwide community and spiritual connectedness we are sure to find during MAGIS and WYD. I don’t fully know what to expect from the trip, but I know that it will open my eyes and in ways I can’t even imagine. Pray for us as we continue on our way to Krakow!

Hello Facebook friends! My name is Jackie and I am one of the seven pilgrims going to Poland for World Youth Day with Fordham this summer! At Fordham I am a Liturgical Minister, a Ram Van Driver, and a New Student Orientation Leader.
After my incredible experience at World Youth Day Madrid in 2011, I knew I had to go again some day. WYD Madrid helped me discover my faith, so I'm looking forward to developing it further with this opportunity. I have no doubt in my mind that the people I meet will inspire me and open my eyes far beyond my expectations. I can't wait to interact with Jesuit students from around the world while doing service. When I was choosing my college over 3 years ago, I heard that Fordham participated in the MAGIS program the week before WYD. Ever since then, I've been waiting for this trip. At that point I didn't even know that the Pope would be Jesuit, AND that it'd be in Poland, the home of Pope John Paul II, the founder to WYD! This World Youth Day will be incomparable to others!
