Flood Recovery Programme – Lessons Learned & Future Improvement Workshop

On 13th August 2025, a Lessons Learned and Future Improvement Workshop for the Flood Recovery Programme was held at Serena Hotel, Islamabad, organized by UNDP Country Office Pakistan in collaboration with UNDP China Office, C-CED, and other partner organizations. Participants from UNDP’s Quetta Field Office were also present.

The Flood Recovery Programme, implemented in Kachhi-Bolan and Jaffarabad districts, successfully supported flood-affected farmers in 2025 by providing agricultural inputs to restore and improve their livelihoods.

On this remarkable occasion, the Islamic Relief Pakistan team was warmly congratulated and appreciated for their outstanding work. Country Director Mr. Raza Narejo extended heartfelt thanks to UNDP Pakistan, UNDP China, and C-CED for their strong support and cooperation in making this project a success.

I feel truly grateful to have been part of the implementation team in Jaffarabad and Kachhi-Bolan districts. Alhamdulillah, with teamwork, dedication, and blessings from Allah Almighty, we were able to achieve our goals and deliver meaningful impact to the affected communities.

"Pakistan, an agricultural country with immense potential! Yet, many of our farmers still rely on traditional techniques. Meanwhile, the world is embracing innovative agriculture.

To bridge this gap, an exposure visit was arranged at Sindh Agriculture University, Tando Jam, where farmers from flood-affected areas learned from experts and shared experiences.

This initiative, part of the UNDP-funded Flood Recovery Program, aims to empower farmers with modern knowledge and techniques.

The initiative strengthened agriculture and revived crafts, benefiting 10,000 flood-affected individuals, including 50% women, fostering resilience and sustainable recovery in alignment with Geneva Conference commitments.

I also explored the historic mosque nearby, which is over 100 years old. It was fascinating to learn about its rich history and architectural beauty. A perfect blend of nature and culture!
