یوم مزدور، جسے مزدوروں کا عالمی دن بھی کہا جاتا ہے، پاکستان میں ہر سال یکم مئی کو منایا جاتا ہے۔ یہ ایک عام تعطیل ہے جو ملک بھر میں محنت کشوں کے تعاون، جدوجہد اور حقوق کے لیے وقف ہے۔
اس دن کی جڑیں عالمی مزدور تحریک میں ہیں، خاص طور پر ریاستہائے متحدہ میں تاریخی Haymarket Affair، جس نے کام کے منصفانہ اوقات اور بہتر حالات کے مطالبے کو اجاگر کیا۔ پاکستان میں، یوم مزدور قوم کی معیشت اور معاشرے کی تعمیر میں مزدوروں کی اہمیت کی یاد دہانی کے طور پر کام کرتا ہے۔
اس دن، ٹریڈ یونینز، مزدور تنظیمیں، اور کارکنان مزدوروں کے حقوق، بشمول منصفانہ اجرت، کام کرنے کے محفوظ ماحول اور سماجی تحفظ کے بارے میں بیداری پیدا کرنے کے لیے ریلیاں، سیمینار اور مباحثے کا انعقاد کرتے ہیں۔ سرکاری افسران اور رہنما بھی مزدوروں کی کوششوں کو تسلیم کرتے.
یوم مزدور صرف چھٹی نہیں بلکہ پاکستان کی تعمیر و ترقی میں کردار ادا کرنے والے محنتی افراد کے لیے یکجہتی اور احترام کی علامت ہے۔
