Under an activity for senior journalists from print media, aimed at sensitizing them on budget education, tracking, and reporting, Blue Veins organized a one-hour training and sensitization session on the Right to Services. The session was facilitated by Mr. Qamar Naseem Right to Services Ambassador from the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (Peshawar).
During the session, journalists were oriented on the Right to Services Act, with a focus on citizens’ entitlement to timely public services. They were informed about the available and mandatory services that government departments are required to deliver within specified timelines, along with the procedures for accessing these services. The session also covered the complaint and redressal mechanisms in cases of delays or non-compliance.
Furthermore, journalists were guided on how to effectively report on service delivery issues, track government performance, and utilize the Right to Services framework as a tool for promoting transparency and accountability in their reporting.
