*Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Launches Women Empowerment Policy (2026–2030)*

The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment officially launched the Women Empowerment Policy (2026–2030) on 3rd March 2026.

The policy has been revised by the Social Welfare, Special Education & Women Empowerment Department with the valuable support of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Commission on the Status of Women and technical assistance from UN Women.

The revised policy strengthens the government’s commitment to gender equality and introduces important new components, including Digital Empowerment and Climate Change, ensuring inclusive and sustainable progress for women and girls.

The revision process was carried out through extensive consultations with relevant stakeholders and key government departments, including Health, Home, Police, Education, Local Government, Planning & Development, and the Judiciary, along with active engagement of civil society.

The policy was formally launched by Mr. Aftab Alam, Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Human Rights.

Members of the Provincial Assembly, representatives of government departments, and civil society organizations attended and graced the occasion.

وزیراعلیٰ خیبر پختونخوا محمد سہیل آفریدی نے وگرنسی کنٹرول اینڈ ریہیبلیٹیشن بل کو صوبائی کابینہ میں پیش کرنے کی منظوری دے دی۔ یہ بل منظم، جبری اور استحصالی بھیک کے خلاف سخت قانونی کارروائی کے ساتھ ساتھ بحالی، اصلاح اور انسانی وقار پر مبنی نظام متعارف کراتا ہے۔
اس حوالے سے *محکمہ سوشل ویلفیئر، سپیشل ایجوکیشن اینڈ ویمن ایمپاورمنٹ، حکومتِ خیبر پختونخوا* مرکزی کردار ادا کر رہا ہے، جو بچوں، خواتین اور کمزور طبقات کے تحفظ، بحالی، تعلیم اور ہنرمندی کے جامع انتظامات کو یقینی بنائے گا۔
وزیراعلیٰ کو بریفنگ *مسٹر عمرہ خان، ایڈیشنل سیکرٹری سوشل ویلفیئر ڈیپارٹمنٹ* نے دی، جس میں بتایا گیا کہ نیا قانون منظم و جبری بھیک کو سنگین جرم قرار دیتا ہے، بچوں کو بھیک پر لگانے والوں کے خلاف زیرو ٹالرنس اپناتا ہے، اور بحالی مراکز و روزگار کے مواقع کے ذریعے مستقل حل فراہم کرتا ہے۔
خیبر پختونخوا بھیک جیسے سنگین سماجی مسئلے کے خلاف انسانی، جامع اور پائیدار ماڈل متعارف کرانے والا ملک کا پہلا صوبہ بننے جا رہا ہے۔

*Capacity Development of Gender Desk and Pro Bono Lawyers Desk in KP*
Social Welfare Department alongwith the colloboration of Mera Ghar - NET arranged a one-day workshop which was held on 29th of January 2026, in Shelton Rezidor, Tehkal Payan Peshawar on Capacity Building of Gender Desks and Pro Bono Lawyers in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Social Welfare District Offices. In the workshop, Ms. Rukhshanda Naz, Managing Trustee(NET) presented welcome Note and main objectives of the workshop.
Ms. Saima Munir, Women Rights Activist Capacity Building Manager (Aurat Foundation) describes about Understanding Gender-Based Violence.
Mr. Arshed Haroon, Trustee Mera Ghar-NET state responsibility to ensure Participation, Prevention and
Protection of Women.
Sabiha Iqbal Khattak, Focal Person Pro Lawyer Desk explained about ensuring access to Justice.

پشاور: وزیر اعلیٰ ہاؤس آمد پر سہیل آفریدی نے بچیوں کو وزیر اعلیٰ ہاؤس کا دورہ کرایا، ان کے ساتھ سیلفیاں بنائیں اور تفصیلی و خوشگوار گفتگو کی
پشاور: وزیر اعلیٰ ہاؤس میں زمونگ کور کی بچیوں کے اعزاز میں خصوصی ظہرانے کا اہتمام کیا گیا
