The history of Nursing Examination Board, Punjab goes back to the United India before partition era when it conducted the examinations of the United Punjab and the records of the Nursing students who appeared in examination during 1941 from Lahore, Peshawar, Quetta, Delhi, Ferozepur, Jodhpur, Jhansi, Jaipur, Lakhnow, Ludhiana, Bikaner, Dholpur, Amritsar, Braille, Ajmere and Sialkot centers are ava
ilable with Nursing Examination Board, Punjab. At that time, it was called “Punjab Nursing Council and Midwives Board.”
After the emergence of Pakistan in 1947, Nursing Examination Board, Sindh conducted examination of Nursing students of All Pakistan till 1973. In 1973 PNC directed that all the provinces of Pakistan should conduct their examinations independently. Sindh province continues taking examination of its own province but Balochistan and Frontier provinces, could not conduct examinations due to their administrative problems. The Nursing Examination Board, Punjab started conducting examination of its own nursing institutions and the institutions of other two provinces (Balochistan and Frontier) till October 1980. Since March 1981, Nursing Examination Board, Punjab has been conducting the examination of all categories of Nursing students of the institutions of Punjab, Islamabad, Kashmir, Balochistan and Frontier provinces started conducting their own examinations. The present Nursing Examination Board, Punjab Lahore was constituted under section II of Pakistan Nursing Council Act, 1973. Painda Khan was its Vice-Chairperson at that time and Ms. G M Dara was first controller Nursing Examination Board, Punjab. Jurisdiction:
