SME Business Support Fund, Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan "Making SMEs competitive and sustainable through innovation and efficiency"

SME Business Support Fund (BSF) is a “Not for Profit Company” registered under Section 42 of the Companies Ordinance, 1984. It was established by the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan in April 2005 and is administrated by an independent Board of Directors with majority of the members being from the private sector. It is created to assist both SMEs as well as Business Development Service

Providers (BDSPs). It was formed as a joint initiative of ADB and the Ministry of Finance, Government of Pakistan in 2005 as a pilot project. In November 2009, the Government of Pakistan took up the ownership of the organization and approved its re-structuring. The objectives of BSF are to assist in the improvement of the competitiveness of SMEs and to enhance the revenue generating capacity and profitability of emerging businesses. It is a financial support scheme, established for small and medium sized companies (SMEs) to enhance their competitiveness and profitability, through the increased use of business development services (BDS).
