*Kohat Business Leaders Meet KP Industry Adviser, Push for Investment and Industrial Growth*
PESHAWAR, June 4
A delegation of the Kohat Chamber of Commerce and Industry led by the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Shafi Jan, met Adviser to the Chief Minister on Industries and Commerce Humayun Khan on Thursday to discuss investment promotion, industrial development and challenges facing the business community in the province.
The delegation congratulated Khan on assuming his new responsibilities and held detailed discussions on opportunities for economic growth, particularly in the Kohat region. Senior government officials, including Industries Secretary Amjad Ali Khan and Small Industries Development Board Managing Director Abdul Hameed, also attended the meeting.
Speaking on the occasion, Kohat Chamber President Rasheed Paracha highlighted the key issues confronting businesses and emphasized the need for stronger government support to boost investor confidence, improve industrial infrastructure and facilitate commercial activities.
“Enhancing industrial facilities and creating a business-friendly environment can significantly strengthen economic activity in the region,” Paracha told.
Industries Adviser reaffirmed the provincial government's commitment to industrial and commercial development, describing the sectors as central to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s economic strategy.
“The government is committed to working closely with the private sector to promote investment, create employment opportunities and accelerate industrial growth,” Khan said. He added that all available resources would be utilized to support economic expansion and attract investors to the province.
The Adviser also pledged to address concerns raised by the business community and implement industry-friendly policies aimed at making Khyber Pakhtunkhwa a more attractive destination for local and foreign investment.
Other members of the delegation, including Waqas Paracha and retired Colonel Jawad Paracha, attended the meeting.
Participants agreed that sustained cooperation between the government and the private sector would be crucial in unlocking new avenues for industrial development, trade expansion and long-term economic growth across the province.

DC KOHAT ORDERS IMPROVED HEALTHCARE SERVICES DURING SURPRISE VISIT TO RURAL HEALTH FACILITY
Deputy Commissioner Muhammad Nawaz Wazir has conducted a surprise inspection of the Basic Health Unit (BHU) in Togh Bala on Thursday, directing the health officials to ensure timely provision of medical treatment, essential medicines, and quality healthcare services for the patients.
During the visit, the Deputy Commissioner inspected the emergency ward and other sections of the facility, reviewing the availability of medicines, cleanliness standards, patient care arrangements and overall administrative management.
Wazir directed the medical staff and relevant authorities to maintain uninterrupted supplies of essential medicines and ensure that patients receive prompt and effective treatment. He warned that negligence in healthcare delivery would not be tolerated.
Deputy Commissioner also emphasized strict adherence to duty schedules, directing healthcare personnel to remain present at their posts and treat patients with professionalism, respect and courtesy in order to strengthen public confidence in government health institutions.
Highlighting the importance of hygiene and efficient administration, Wazir called for further improvements in cleanliness and service delivery standards at the facility. He noted that a clean environment and an effective management system play a vital role in providing quality healthcare to the public.

ہنگو کیلئے بڑی خوشخبری: 7 ارب روپے کا طورہ وڑی ڈیم منصوبہ اے ڈی پی میں شامل
چیئرمین ڈیڈک ہنگو و ایم پی اے شاہ تراب خان بنگش نے عوامی مفاد کے ایک اہم منصوبے ”طورہ وڑی ڈیم“ کو سالانہ ترقیاتی پروگرام میں شامل کرانے کا اعلان کیا ہے جسے علاقے کی آبی ضروریات پوری کرنے کی جانب ایک اہم پیشرفت قرار دیا جا رہا ہے۔ منصوبے کی تخمینہ لاگت 7 ارب روپے رکھی گئی ہے۔ حکام کے مطابق ڈیم کی تکمیل سے تحصیل دوآبہ اور ٹل کے عوام کو پانی کی فراہمی میں نمایاں بہتری آئے گی جبکہ علاقے میں پانی کی قلت اور اس سے جڑے دیرینہ مسائل کے حل میں بھی مدد ملے گی۔ شاہ تراب نے کہا کہ منصوبے کی شمولیت عوامی فلاح و بہبود کیلئے ایک اہم سنگِ میل ہے اور اس پر عملی کام کے آغاز کیلئے ضروری اقدامات تیزی سے مکمل کئے جا رہے ہیں۔ انہوں نے امید ظاہر کی کہ منصوبے پر جلد کام شروع ہوگا جس سے مقامی آبادی کو براہِ راست فائدہ پہنچے گا۔ مقامی حلقوں نے طورہ وڑی ڈیم کو علاقے کی ترقی، زرعی سرگرمیوں کے فروغ اور پانی کے پائیدار ذخائر کے قیام کیلئے ایک اہم منصوبہ قرار دیتے ہوئے اس کی اے ڈی پی میں شمولیت کا خیرمقدم کیا ہے۔ عوامی خدمت، ترقی اور خوشحالی کے وژن کے تحت یہ منصوبہ ہنگو کے آبی شعبے میں ایک بڑی سرمایہ کاری تصور کیا جا رہا ہے۔

LANDMARK AGREEMENT STRENGTHENS WOMEN’S EDUCATION IN KOHAT
A significant step toward strengthening women’s education in Kohat’s PK-91 Constituency was taken with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the principal of Jarma College for Women and the institution’s landlord, in a move aimed at ensuring the college’s long-term stability and growth.
The agreement was signed by the Principal Farzana Saleem Khattak and landlord Nisar Ahmad, following efforts by Member of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly and DDAC Chairman Daud Shah Afridi, along with Member of the National Assembly Shehryar Afridi.
Local political and social circles described the agreement as an important milestone for improving educational opportunities for women, strengthening the institution’s administrative and academic foundations, and promoting higher education in the area.
Officials said the development would provide students with a more stable and conducive learning environment while paving the way for future expansion and institutional development.
Speakers at the signing ceremony emphasized that women’s education is a cornerstone of social progress, noting that educated women play a vital role in the economic and social development of any society. They reiterated their commitment to introducing further initiatives aimed at enhancing educational facilities and opportunities across the region.

ORAKZAI LEADERS UNITE FOR PEACE AHEAD OF MUHARRAM AS KOHAT COMMISSIONER CALLS FOR HARMONY
Commissioner Kohat Division Syed Motasim Billah Shah has urged the religious scholars, tribal elders and local communities to work together to ensure peace and sectarian harmony during the upcoming Muharram-ul-Haram, saying the preservation of law and order is a shared responsibility of all citizens.
Speaking at a Grand Jirga in Kalaya, the Headquarters of Lower Orakzai, Shah said the district administration, police and security agencies had finalized comprehensive security arrangements to ensure the peaceful observance of Muharram.
The session was attended by the Deputy Commissioner Orakzai Irfanuddin, District Police Officer Shaukat Ali, Commandant Orakzai Scouts Colonel Adnan Javed, religious scholars from different schools of thought, tribal elders and representatives of both Sunni and Shia communities. “Maintaining the sanctity of Muharram, ensuring public safety and promoting religious harmony require collective efforts from all segments of society,” he told the gathering.
Shah said Orakzai had a long-standing tradition of inter-sect harmony, mutual respect and brotherhood, expressing confidence that community leaders would continue to uphold these values during the holy month.
The commissioner called on religious leaders and tribal elders to discourage rumors and inflammatory rhetoric and to remain in close coordination with the administration and law enforcement agencies to help maintain a peaceful environment.
He emphasized that scholars and community elders play a vital role in promoting tolerance and strengthening social cohesion, adding that their positive contributions would further reinforce the atmosphere of unity and brotherhood across the district.
The Jirga concluded with participants reaffirming their commitment to peace, communal harmony and cooperation with authorities to ensure the smooth and peaceful observance of Muharram in Orakzai.
