The 101st meeting of the Quaid-i-Azam Mazar Management Board (QMMB) was held on 22nd January 2026 at 1300 hours at the Quaid’s Mausoleum, Karachi. The meeting was chaired by the Honorable Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage & Culture Division, Government of Pakistan.
The Minister expressed satisfaction over the resumption of the Board’s meetings and commended the members for their continued dedication to preserving the sanctity and heritage of Mazar-e-Quaid.
During the session, the Board deliberated on several key agenda items, including the relocation of the old chandelier from the Quaid’s Mausoleum to the National Museum of Pakistan. The Board also approved the invitation of bids in accordance with PPRA for the project of “Development of Pakistan Park at Southern Peripheral Area of Mazar-e-Quaid, Karachi.” to provide the visitor – friendly, Board approved the proposal for the Provision of facility of Electric Shuttle Service particularly for elderly, women, children and persons with disabilities from entrance gates to the main Mazar near lower podium within the premises of Mazar-e-Quaid. The board also approved the limited and carefully planned commercial utilization of peripheral area land and constituted a committee to submit proposals for consideration at its next meeting.
The meeting was attended by Mr. Asad Rehman Gilani, Secretary, National Heritage & Culture Division; and other Board Members, including Mr. Mehmood Amir, Accountant General Sindh; Mr. Ghlam Mujtaba Joyo, Joint Secretary (Organization), Mr. Muhammad Pervaiz Alam, Joint Secretary (Expenditure) NH&C Division; Dr. Sarosh Hashmat Lodi; Mr. Fahim Iqbal Siddiqui; Mr. Ali Akbar Gujjar; and Mr. Inamullah Shaikh. The Chief Secretary of Sindh was represented by Mr. Abdul Fatah Shaikh, Director General, Antiquities and Archeology, Culture Department.
