KARACHI: A landmark Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was officially signed between the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (DEPD), Government of Sindh, and the Sindh Institute of Child Health & Neonatology (SICHN) to revolutionize healthcare access for neurodivergent and differently-abled children. The MoU was executed in the gracious presence of the Worthy Secretary (DEPD) Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqui, and Executive Director SICHN Prof. Jamal Raza.

Under the terms of this milestone agreement, all children with special needs registered with the department will receive comprehensive medical, diagnostic, and therapeutic services entirely free of cost at SICHN facilities. Following the signing ceremony, Prof. Jamal Raza and his clinical team guided the DEPD delegation through the hospital, showcasing their state-of-the-art facilities. The tour highlighted SICHN's structured specialized services, including advanced medical assessments, precise diagnostic testing, customized therapeutic procedures, and holistic rehabilitation services. This partnership marks a significant step forward in building a truly inclusive and accessible healthcare ecosystem in Sindh.

We were honored to host 𝗠𝗿. 𝗧𝘂𝗮𝗵𝗮 𝗔𝗵𝗺𝗲𝗱 𝗙𝗮𝗿𝘂𝗾𝘂𝗶, 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗲𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗼𝗳 (𝗗𝗘𝗣𝗗), 𝗦𝗶𝗻𝗱𝗵, along with Regional Director, Karachi Region, for an official visit to the Karachi Institute of Neurological Diseases & Rehabilitation (KIND-R).
They were warmly received by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗼𝗵𝗮𝗺𝗺𝗮𝗱 𝗪𝗮𝘀𝗮𝘆 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗸𝗶𝗿, 𝗣𝗿𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗞𝗜𝗡𝗗-𝗥 alongside our leadership team.

During the visit, the dignitaries observed our systematic and methodical approach to delivering free of cost rehabilitation and neurodiversity services. Serving over 600–650 patients daily including children, women, and adults. KIND-R remains dedicated to providing high-quality, professional care to all.

Mr. Tuaha Ahmed Faruqui commended our floor organization, expert facility layout, and the dedication of our clinical team. He also extended full support on behalf of the Chief Minister and the Government of Sindh for potential future collaborations and expansion.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the delegation for their visit and look forward to working hand in hand with the Government of Sindh to transform lives through accessible healthcare.

کراچی (25 اگست 2026ء) وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سید مراد علی شاہ نے مائل اسٹونز سینٹر فار کاگنیٹو اینڈ لینگویج ڈویلپمنٹ کا دورہ کیا، جو حکومت سندھ کے ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایمپاورمنٹ آف پرسنز ود ڈس ایبلٹیز (ڈی ای پی ڈی) کا ایک اہم شراکت دار ادارہ ہے۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے مرکز میں خصوصی ضروریات کے حامل بچوں کو فراہم کی جانے والی مختلف سہولیات اور تعلیمی پروگرامز کا جائزہ لیا۔ کلفٹن میں واقع مرکز پہنچنے پر سیکریٹری ڈی ای پی ڈی طحٰہ فاروقی اور مائل اسٹونز کی ٹرسٹی فوزیہ جاوید حسین نے سید مراد علی شاہ کا استقبال کیا۔ دورے کے دوران وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے ادارے کے مختلف شعبوں کا معائنہ کیا اور نیورو ڈائیورجنٹ بچوں کو فراہم کی جانے والی تعلیمی، علاج معالجے اور بحالی کی سہولیات کا جائزہ لیا۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے طلبہ اور اساتذہ سے بھی ملاقات کی اور ان کی سرگرمیوں اور کامیابیوں میں گہری دلچسپی کا اظہار کیا۔ انہوں نے خصوصی ضروریات کے حامل بچوں کو معیاری تعلیم، تھراپی اور بحالی کی خدمات فراہم کرنے کے لیے ادارے کی کاوشوں کو سراہا۔ مائل اسٹونز کی ٹرسٹی فوزیہ جاوید نے وزیراعلیٰ سندھ کو بریفنگ دیتے ہوئے بتایا کہ مائل اسٹونز کا قیام 1998ء میں عمل میں آیا تھا اور ادارہ ڈاؤن سنڈروم، آٹزم، سیریبرل پالسی، نشوونما میں تاخیر اور فریجائل ایکس سنڈروم سمیت خصوصی ضروریات رکھنے والے افراد کو جامع تعلیم اور معاونت کے ذریعے بااختیار بنانے کے لیے کام کر رہا ہے، تاکہ وہ ایک بھرپور اور باوقار زندگی گزار سکیں۔ مرکز ہر بچے کے لیے انفرادی ضروریات کے مطابق مکمل تعلیمی اور بحالی کا پروگرام فراہم کرتا ہے۔ دیگر اداروں کے برعکس، مستحق طلبہ کو یہاں تمام خدمات مفت فراہم کی جاتی ہیں۔ اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ سندھ سید مراد علی شاہ نے کہا کہ مائل اسٹونز خصوصی بچوں کی تعلیم، تربیت اور بحالی کے شعبے میں قابلِ تحسین کردار ادا کر رہا ہے۔ انہوں نے اس عزم کا اعادہ کیا کہ سندھ حکومت خصوصی افراد کی تعلیم، بحالی اور بااختیاری کے لیے بھرپور تعاون جاری رکھے گی۔ مائل اسٹون چیریٹیبل ٹرسٹ کی جانب سے منعقدہ تقریب سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے کہا کہ ٹرسٹ 1998ء سے بچوں اور ان کے خاندانوں کی خدمت کر رہا ہے اور جامع تعلیم کے شعبے میں ایک مثالی ادارے کے طور پر ابھرا ہے۔ انہوں نے کہا کہ مائل اسٹونز پاکستان کا پہلا دو لسانی اسکول ہے جو نیورو ڈائیورجنٹ بچوں کے لیے مختص ہے، جن میں آٹزم اسپیکٹرم ڈس آرڈر، ڈاؤن سنڈروم، سیریبرل پالسی اور دیگر نشوونمائی مسائل کے شکار بچے شامل ہیں۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے کہا کہ ہر بچے کو معیاری تعلیم، تھراپی اور کامیابی کے مساوی مواقع تک رسائی حاصل ہونی چاہیے۔ انہوں نے مستحق خاندانوں کے لیے فیس میں رعایت فراہم کرنے کے ادارے کے اقدام کو بھی قابلِ تحسین قرار دیا۔ سید مراد علی شاہ نے کہا کہ مائل اسٹونز میں ہر استاد کے مقابلے میں صرف دو طلبہ کا تناسب انفرادی توجہ اور مؤثر تعلیمی نتائج کو یقینی بناتا ہے۔ انہوں نے بتایا کہ سندھ حکومت کے ڈیپارٹمنٹ آف ایمپاورمنٹ آف پرسنز ود ڈس ایبلٹیز (ڈی ای پی ڈی) نے 2025ء میں مائل اسٹونز کی معاونت شروع کی اور اس کے بعد سے ادارے کو خصوصی آلات کی فراہمی اور انتظامی اخراجات کے لیے معاونت فراہم کی جا رہی ہے۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے مشاہدہ کیا کہ سندھ حکومت کی معاونت سے مرکز کی تعلیمی اور علاج معالجے کی سہولیات میں نمایاں بہتری آئی ہے۔ انہوں نے زور دیا کہ خصوصی بچوں کو بہترین ممکنہ تعلیمی اور طبی سہولیات فراہم کرنا ان کی حکومت کی اہم ترجیحات میں شامل ہے۔ سید مراد علی شاہ نے یقین دلایا کہ سندھ حکومت خصوصی افراد کے لیے کام کرنے والے اداروں کی معاونت جاری رکھے گی اور مائل اسٹونز میں جدید ترین، اسٹیٹ آف دی آرٹ سہولت کے قیام کے لیے بھی تعاون کرے گی۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے ادارے کے اساتذہ، تھراپسٹس اور عملے کی لگن کو سراہتے ہوئے کہا کہ ان کی کاوشیں ایک زیادہ جامع، ہمدرد اور بااختیار سماج کی تشکیل میں مددگار ثابت ہو رہی ہیں۔ وزیراعلیٰ سندھ نے اپنے خطاب کے اختتام پر کہا کہ خصوصی بچوں کی تعلیم اور بحالی میں سرمایہ کاری کے ذریعے ہم ایسا سماج تشکیل دے سکتے ہیں جہاں ہر فرد بااختیار ہو اور ترقی کرنے کے

Today, Helping Hand with Medicos, a group of students from Chandka Medical College Larkana, visited GSE&RC for VI&HIC Larkana. They engaged the children in various activities and distributed educational materials, juices, and other gifts among the students.

Regional Director Larkana, Madam Zahida Gous Kakepoto, also participated in the event and appreciated the activities organized for the children.

نيورو ڊولپمينٽ سينٽر ۾ ٻارن ۽ نيورو ڊولپمينٽل ضرورتن رکندڙ ماڻهن لاءِ مڪمل بحالي واريون خدمتون مفت فراهم ڪيون وينديون، جن ۾ فزيوٿراپي، اسپيچ ٿراپي، بيهيورل ٿراپي ۽ آڪيُوپيشَنل ٿراپي سميت ٻيون ضروري ريهيبليٽيشن سروسز شامل آهن. ماهر ۽ تربيت يافته عملي جي نگراني هيٺ اهي خدمتون ماڻهن کي سندن ويجهو ۽ بهتر ماحول ۾ فراهم ڪرڻ هن مرڪز جو اهم مقصد آهي.
تقريب دوران مختلف نوعيت جي معذور ماڻهن ۾ مددگار آلات (Assistive Devices) پڻ ورهايا ويا، جن ۾ ٽرائي سائيڪلون، ويل چيئرز، سي پي واڪرز ۽ سي پي ويل چيئرز شامل هئا. انهن آلات جي فراهمي جو مقصد ماڻهن کي روزمره زندگي ۾ وڌيڪ خودمختيار بڻائڻ، سندن حرڪت ۽ رسائي کي آسان بڻائڻ ۽ سماج ۾ سندن ڀرپور شموليت کي يقيني بڻائڻ آهي.
ان موقعي تي مقررين چيو ته نيورو ڊولپمينٽ سينٽر جو قيام قمبر ۽ ڀرپاسي جي علائقن ۾ رهندڙ ماڻهن لاءِ بحالي ۽ معذوري جي خدمتن تائين رسائي جي حوالي سان هڪ اهم قدم آهي. حڪومتِ سنڌ، DEPD ۽ پارٽنر ادارن جي گڏيل ڪوششن سان اهڙيون سهولتون ضلعي سطح تي فراهم ٿيڻ سان ماڻهن کي معياري بحالي واريون خدمتون پنهنجي ئي شهر ۾ حاصل ٿينديون.
تقريب ۾ لاڳاپيل کاتن جي آفيسرن، طبي ۽ بحالي واري عملي، ٻارن ۽ سندن والدين، ماڻهن سان گڏ ڪم ڪندڙ تنظيمن ۽ ٻين معزز مهمانن پڻ شرڪت ڪئي.
نيورو ڊولپمينٽ سينٽر جو قيام هڪ وڌيڪ جامع، بااختيار ۽ شموليت واري سماج ڏانهن هڪ اهم قدم آهي، جتي هر ٻار ۽ هر فرد کي پنهنجي صلاحيتن کي اجاگر ڪرڻ لاءِ برابر موقعا فراهم ڪيا ويندا.

Karachi, 19th August 2026:
The Three-Day Training Program on Braille Maths successfully concluded today at Ida Rieu College for Blind and Deaf, Numaish Chowrangi, Karachi.

The training was organized by Special Education Teachers Training Academy Sindh - SETTAS-DEPD in collaboration with Ida Rieu College for Blind and Deaf, Karachi.

Day 3 Focus: Application & Formatting of Basic UEB Maths
On the final day, participants covered Order of Operations, Units & Measurement, Percent Sign, and a comprehensive Review & Assessment. A 30-minute reading test and 30-minute transcription test were conducted to evaluate learning outcomes.

Key 3-Day Syllabus Covered:
- Day 1: Foundations - Numbers & Grouping
Numeric Indicator , Digits 0-9, Decimal , Commas, Money , Grouping Symbols.
- Day 2: Operations & Simple Equations
Plus , Minus , Multiplication , Division , Equals , Fractions, Mixed Numbers.
- Day 3: Application & Formatting
Order of Operations, Units: cm, kg, mL, Per, Final Review & Assessment.

13 teachers from all over Sindh actively participated throughout the 3 days.

The program concluded with a Certificate Distribution Ceremony. The Chief Guest praised SETTAS-DEPD and Ida Rieu for this initiative and emphasized that such trainings are vital for ensuring inclusive education for visually impaired students.

The Director SETTAS, Nadeem Ibrahim, expressed special gratitude to Mrs. Muzna Masood, Principal/CEO, Ida Rieu College for Blind and Deaf, for hosting the training and providing excellent support. He also thanked all trainers and participants.
