On World Humanitarian Day, the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women honours the courage, compassion, and dedication of humanitarian workers who stand beside communities in times of crisis. We recognise the invaluable efforts of those working to protect lives, uphold dignity, and support people affected by conflict, disasters, displacement, and other emergencies. SCSW stands in solidarity with women and girls whose lives are impacted by crises, and reaffirms the importance of ensuring their safety, dignity, rights, and meaningful participation in humanitarian response and recovery.

Strengthening Women’s Participation in the Electoral Process

A meeting with members of the Provincial Voter Education Committee was held today, 18 August 2026. Adv. Rubina Aman Brohi, Chairperson, Sindh Commission on the Status of Women, highlighted key gaps in women’s voter awareness and participation.

She emphasized the need to actively engage women and girls in voter education and proposed that the Sindh Commission on the Status of Women be included in all voter education activities of the Provincial Election Commission to raise awareness about women’s right and responsibility to vote and strengthen their meaningful participation in the democratic process.

Mr. Aijaz, Head of the Provincial Election Commission, assured that the Chairperson would be included in future voter education activities and highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts among relevant institutions to promote voter awareness and participation.
