Congratulations to Lincoln Corner’s newest Friends of the Corner (FOC) graduates!

Twice a year, Lincoln Corners across Pakistan bring in a group of young volunteers for the “Friends of the Corner” program, modeled after the “Friends of the Library” concept from U.S. public libraries. It’s part internship, part training, part real-world experience, and this cohort showed up for all of it!

From January to June, 11 emerging Pakistani leaders supported Lincoln Corner programs and kept the space running for visitors. In return, they walked away with skills that actually transfer: program management, public speaking, English language development, and hands-on tech training.

This wasn’t about checking a box. It was about showing up consistently and building something real.

Acting Consul General Jai Nair presented certificates to mark the milestone, but the growth happened long before that moment, one session at a time.

Five years ago today, the horrific Abbey Gate terrorist bombing in Kabul killed 13 brave U.S. service members, wounded 45, and injured more than 160 innocent civilians. We honor their extraordinary sacrifices and stand in solidarity with the families who lost a loved one. The United States thanks Pakistan for its assistance in apprehending and extraditing the operative responsible for planning this attack, exemplifying our strong bilateral cooperation in combatting terrorist networks that threaten the United States, Pakistan, and the region.

آج سے ٹھیک پانچ سال پہلے، کابل میں ایبی گیٹ پر ہونے والے خوفناک دہشت گرد بم دھماکے میں امریکہ کے 13 بہادر فوجی جان سے گئے، 45 زخمی ہوئے، اور 160 سے زیادہ بے گناہ شہری زخمی ہوئے۔ ہم اُن کی عظیم قربانیوں کو خراجِ عقیدت پیش کرتے ہیں اور اُن خاندانوں کے ساتھ کھڑے ہیں جنہوں نے اپنے کسی پیارے کو کھو دیا۔ امریکہ پاکستان کا شکریہ ادا کرتا ہے کہ اُس نے اِس حملے کی منصوبہ بندی کرنے والے شخص کو پکڑنے اور اُس کی حوالگی میں مدد کی۔ یہ اُن دہشت گرد نیٹ ورکس کے خلاف ہمارے مضبوط باہمی تعاون کی ایک مثال ہے جو امریکہ، پاکستان اور پورے خطے کے لیے خطرہ ہیں۔

The Consulate General Youth Council just took the next step.

Acting Consul General Jai Nair joined CGYC members for "Entrepreneurship Fundamentals: From Idea to Market," a session with leading Pakistani venture capitalists and business leaders on turning ideas into market-ready businesses.

It's the latest chapter in an eight-month program designed to give these young entrepreneurs the knowledge, mentorship, and skills to move from concept to ex*****on, grounded in American business values, built for the Pakistani market.

From kickoff to connections to concrete strategy, the U.S. Consulate General Karachi continues to empower the next generation of Pakistani entrepreneurs and strengthen U.S.-Pakistan economic ties.
